Well, if the photo deserves a 1 or 2, then I understand. But for someone to consciously look at a good, on-topic photo and slam it, is just wrong. |

I agree, but I also know some others use a 2 or 3 as their default vote, feeling that leaves more room at the top to differentiate. To them, a 2 does not say it is bad, just that it does not impact them in any way. On the other hand, I am starting to believe there are indeed trolls on the site. Perhaps some friend voters. No way of really knowing for sure.

I use 5 and 6 as my default. 5 is trending downward "eh" photo. 6 is trending upward, crisp, clear, etc.
But I just voted and ended up giving an average in the high 4s for this round. Raised my DNMC bar to a 2 to be nice, but there were several where there was no spam at all. Some where I think people didn't understand that there are pretty much only TWO definitions of SPAM. Oh well. :) |

More than several. I am sure we noticed the same ones and I am curious to know how the members thought they fit the topic. Some of the others may not have totally fit the strict definition, however the connection was clear if not totally accurate.
Voting is starting to get rather snappy in the last few hours.

LOL.  Sherpet and I managed to do it in that ill fated set of Challenges:
Portrait in Landscape Orientation
and
Landscape in Portrait Orientation
I took a self-DQ on that one. 50 or so potential "you put it in the wrong challenge" comments didn't appeal to me.
