mpeters was kind enough to pass on to me that a Columbia Gorge icon has been restored.
For probably the last decade Punch Bowl Falls, a Columbia gorge icon, has been marred by a fallen log blocking the bottleneck view from below. If you wanted an unobstructed view you either had to clone out the log or swim up the bottleneck with a dry suit and your gear. You can see the log in the wiki picture here.
Apparently the log washed out in a large rainstorm this winter. Marc Adamus, a great NW photographer, has captured the new perspective in a beautiful shot:

I'm actually heading back up to the area this weekend and now want to go and take a gander. Marc's shot is taken from the rocks where I captured my rock stacks:

Very cool. I'll hve to make it back down that way. We went in a ways at the GTG a couple fo years ago but no great shots. Give us an updte when you get back. |

Is it just me, or does anyone else see a face reflected in the water, bottom of the image, inline with the falls?
