My kids found this on the shore of Mullet Lake in Michigan. It's some weird fleshy thing that stunk really bad! The only thing I could think of was a turtle leg or something.

It's about a foot long. About the length and circumference of an arm from the wrist to the elbo!

Haven't you ever seen a horror film? Do not probe smell, alien-looking growths, especially if they're a foot long or more.

It's hard to tell from the photo: is it attached to that stick/branch?

No, my daughters found it the day before and they were trying to explain it to us because we didn't believe them so she took me over there and picked it up with the stick so I could get a shot of it.

The little suction cup things on the skin make it seem like this could be the leg of something? Where the cups are used for traction. ???

I searched for animals and or fish in Michigan (with various descripters) and kept coming up with Lamprey hits.

I am usually pretty good a IDing various strange forms of life, and I have *NO* idea what that is.

The little suction cup thingies really throw me off.
