Ahem, isn't this the reject club? You're membership was revoked long ago. |

How rejected can one feel....? To be rejected by a reject club must be the low.....! I'm crying into my coffee here!
Anyway, just to keep the good Dr happy, I've also had two recent rejections.
Rejected 74, published 10...... So I think my frequent rejection points card is still up to date :)

Hi, folks,
I'm a newbie here, but have been following this forum for some time. My deepest sympathies.
I resigned my 1X.com membership a few months ago, partly (but only partly) because I was getting too emotionally stressed over my rejections (60 so far). After I calmed down a bit and weaned myself from my 1X.com log-on-and-admire-the-pretty-pictures addiction, I re-upped. Now I've posted all my rejects on my personal website and, during the process, decided that most of them were rejected with good reason.
I don't know if I should post my favorite reject(s) here or just provide a link to my rejections page(s). I'd like to go with the spirit of this thread. I'm not looking for approbation or compliments--I'm just candidly sharing. I've annotated most of my rejects and some of you might find my comments and links to be interesting.
Cheers,
King Douglas (aka Kong Fairbanks) |

I think this thread is mostly tongue-in-cheek, and good humor. Kind of a support group, if you will. I would say you will be welcomed to the club. |

Hi there
I cannot believe YOU got frustrated by 1x: I admired silently so many of your photos published there, and so I was considering you one of the kings (no pun intended) of 1x. Based on what you stated, your rejection rate is ridiculously low: 90 accepted vs. 60 rejected - way lower than mine and I believe most of us here. So I am not sure whether you really belong to this miserable club, but if you insist - you are most welcome! :)

King, feel free to link us to your reject page at 1x, but if you're the King Douglas I think you are (and there can Be Only One, right?) you have an amazing portfolio of work. Amazing. I think we'd be delighted to see your rejects!
Yeah, what Lev said.
But just so you know, you can't enter challenges here. You have way too many published shots at 1x, and, well, it's not an official rule or anything, it's just, well, trying to keep the playing field less tilted. :-)

Hey King, nice to see you here! Remember, dpchallenge is a lot funnier (or more relaxed? or friendlier?) than 1x, which is GREAT! So tongue-in-cheek is the operating mode, except when it comes to Jason (DrAchoo) -- that guy is dead serious all the time!

After reviewing your remarkable website and finding My Personal Favorite on 1x.com...I have to say that while sitting here in my peanut gallery...I REFUSE to look at your portfolio segregated as into "rejections" or "published." With your permission and by your invitation through your initial post, I would prefer to read your notes and enjoy your artistry as an overall expression of your presentations...like a book to be savored from cover to cover.
Since you indicated you have been following this thread...I will assume you know who we are. And, just so you know, all the rumors about Yanko are TRUE!
I'm so excited you posted here...THANK YOU! ;-)

Thanks, Ursula. I'm having trouble with the tongue-in-cheek concept. I'll give it another try if and when I get my foot out of my mouth. |

Thanks for the kind words. In the spirit of full disclosure, you should know that I will turn 65 next week and many of my 1X photos were taken before you were born.
As for Yanko...can't wait to meet him/her. |

You have a fantastic portfolio. It would be great to see you entering challenges here.
As for hihosilver don't mind her. She's just jealous that none of her rumors are true. Well except for the one about her fainting spells...

K_Fairbanks, After spending a little time looking through your photos--i'm impressed. The dance pics are fantastic and your dreamscapes are also excellent. If you're a 1x 'reject'... hmmm, I feel rather insignificant. :) Welcome! |

Well, it just so happens my birthday was yesterday...I'm sure your parents must have been greatly impressed with your skill...especially as a toddler (to take the photos before I was born)...;-)
Since you also indicated you wanted "candid" sharing...I have to say that I'm hugely disappointed that you discontinued your account at 1x.com. You punish your fans more than anyone else and we don't deserve that.
|
So what's your birth date? From looking at your photo, I think my statement is probably true of you.
I re-joined 1X, but not because I have fans. I like the forums...and rejects are good for my blood circulation. |
