SO this Sunday, I had a photoshoot with a virgin model. MUA, Hair person and a second shooter there.

I ate some soup for breakfast and got an outstanding case of food poisoning.

So I was shooting for 8 hours. 7 of those hours I was upchucking in the woods. So take a photo, upchuck. I wasnt even sure a person could do that physically, but it is possible. At one point I had to lay in the minivan with my head out of one door and my feet out of the other upchucking.

So to say I was severely ill, was an understatement. I still did the shoot, but only managed about 200 shots.

I had a second shooter there.

Now here in lies the problem. He took about 400 shots. 350 are OOF, the rest either have branches coming out of her head, arm, leg, body, or face. So all in all, there are about 7 shots I can work on.n The one of me dying on teh ground is one of the only ones that are in focus.

He gave me all the shots to edit for him. I am happy to do this and worked on the 7 shots that where great.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what I can do with the rest of them (edit wise, disguise them, render better? etc etc) and on how to tell him he is so totally crap he should stick to his day job.

How OOF were the shots? Have you tried a High Pass layer and/or High Pass sharpen, then throw a NIK CEP3 Glamour Glow on it and pretend it was meant to be that way.

Ooohh! You're good! I'll have to remember that trick. :-)

Nik Efex Soft Focus can also be your friend for these shots.

What about just showing your second shooter what should be done?

I do not have the Nik program. I am goign to use the free trial and see what happens.

The shots range from what you saw, focus on teh tree branch nothing else in most of the shots. some are so out of there that unless they are abstract not going to happen.

I have tried using high pass, Manny sharpen, general sharpen, and mostly just got the branch or the forest floor in focus.

Ken, I was too busy throwing up a liver to help him much. I have done a shoot with him before and it is not that he doesn't know how to do it, he is just so damn quick. He has no patience to actually manage to stand still and there for 1 second and focus. He just clicks the button.

He is rather high strung and excitable. He is so excitable that he actually forgot to bring his camera with him and had to use my XTI.

I love him to death and he is a good friend, just sucks at the photography thing. And I am just trying to salvage something from the shots.

edited to add a comment lol,

I had been up since 2am and at 7 am I was hungry, a filling bowl of soup seemed like a good idea. I am never buying soup from Safeway again!!

Juliet, I know you're dedicated and all, but why oh why didn't you just send everyone home, thank them for their time, reschedule, then go home where you could be miserable without having to worry about focus and such?? You're such a nut!

I can't believe your second shooter didn't get any action shots of you puking. I would've had the model posing with you puking on her. That would've been totally awesome!

Ok, why does it matter that the model was/is a virgin? Does lack of sexual experience make her less of a model? ;)

Soup for breakfast?! That's what doughnuts are for. Even if the doughnuts poison you, they still aren't half bad coming back up.

As for the 2nd shooter - you said he got 7 great shots, so he doesn't deserve the soup - give him a tainted doughnut.
