A brown ribbon is far more than a mediocre entry. It is something different. Something special. Kind of like Plan 9 From Outer Space, often so bad they are good. This is a fine art of which there are few masters.

Excuse my ignorance when I ask .. why do you call it Brown Ribbon?
Why not green .. purple .. pinkish :)
Why brown? does it present wooden? Like Gold, Silver, Bronze, Wooden?
Or something else?

I think it represents "something else" as you so delicately put it. |

Um, something else. My own natural assumption is brown represents the color of, well, excrement. (I tried to say it politely, but there is really no way.) |

LoooooooooooooooL, This is totally slipped my mind, didn't even think about that,
I was thinking more Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Wooden :) But now I know there are much worst things :)
Thanks Steve for the explanation :)

I haven't been very active posting or submitting lately, only because I have been working on creating an image so repugnant, so unrefined, so utterly devoid of any aesthetic merit that computers will spontaneously burst into flame when it is loaded for viewing. The message boards will hail it as the gold standard (eh, possibly the brown standard) of failure for years to come.
It is almost ready.
You have been warned.
