Maybe someone can do some sort of data recovery magic to get your photos back? |

| Kelli, check with customer support for your computer - the folks responsible for the back-up CD and the procedures. They should be able to tell you what happened to your files, and if there's a chance of recovery. |

Jeez! And no one even missed me! LOL! Well, verizon fried my computer in some bizarre way with their line outage. And long story short, I had to use the recovery cd to get my computer working right again. It was supposed to leave my files (back them up and put them in a folder), but I was supposed to have to reinstall any programs that didn't come with the computer. So I did it, got my internet back, computer is fine. But, instead of saving my files, it saved the programs. All my pictures are gone! As far as the programs, all I had to do was reenter the keys. But it still took all day. I've been working on this since 7 am. I have a lot of the pictures backed up on a passbook, but nothing from this year. I've lost all my bookmarks, links, etc. I'm so frustrated right now! |
Sometimes if you go into C/drive- programes-and look for the name of the recovery cd you may find your backup files, good luck. |

Yeah, I already looked there. That's where all the programs went. No files were saved though. It's not just the pictures (which is a big deal because I lost all the pictures of my grandmother before she died), but I lost tax returns and some other important stuff. I'm still going crazy trying to get stuff back to normal. |

I'm just pissed that it did the opposite of what it said it would do. And I'm kicking myself for believing it and not copying stuff to dvd first. I feel like wearing a big letter L right now. |

And the moral to this story is, buy an external usb hard drive and update at the end of each day remembering to remove the usb when you shut down. Sorry for your loss. |

Checking in. It’s been awhile, but now I’m working harder at 47 then I have ever before, after 20 years of doing a lot with concrete, building bridges is a whole different story. LOL, and I have to say first thing in the morning working off a 18 inch wide concrete beam over moving traffic with nothing more than a harness and a ½ inch cable for fall protection it is a bit better than that 3erd cup of coffee for getting the old heart going.
We are also holding our breaths for word on the possibility of buying a nice place in Hurricane, Utah. A small town between St. George and Zion NP. So far everyone says it̢۪s looking good.
Here is hoping everyone is doing well.
