Oh it's definitely good as a topical. I read it can be ingested into the bloodstream, just got to be careful like you do with any medicine. I'm glad your cat is ok! Sounds like poor thing was suffering enough.

Cooking IS my hobby, Dave :-) Ask your gal Juliet... Or, for that matter, Generale, Kirbic, Pawdrix, Ray Ethier, Beetle, Melethia, and others I'm sure I've forgotten to list.

R.

You might have forgotten to list some, but I can attest that anyone who had the good fortune of sharing a meal with you is NOT apt to forget it any time soon.

Urgg, the first meal that Bear cooked me, I kept having to go to the bathroom to throw up. I felt really bad that he spent all that tiem making it and all I could do was puke it up.

Type A does kill many each year...and that is WITH millions vaccinated against it. The deal with this Swine Flu is that no one is Vaccinated ...NO ONE...this means that if it is "at least" as deadly as regular Type A, then there is good reason to be alarmed.

However, at this point it "looks" as though it is milder than Type A. But, it is killing about 6% of those infected in Mexico, which is quite high.

I havent seen this posted anywhere else in this thread, but regular flu kills 50,000+ each year around the world.. 160 (so far) or so is a piss in the ocean in comparison..

Well that kinda surprises me, I think someone has their cranky pants on. You are usually so quick to point out when other people make slanderous remarks... I guess whats good for the goose is not good for the gecko...

I forgot the smiley, sorry. :-)

Seriously, this was in the "spirit of the remarks", so to speak, everyone was having fun there. I apologize for not making it clear my slander was humorous ;-)

It wasn't the cooking, it was her reaction to the realization she was stuck looking at my ugly mug for three more days!

The way I was looking at that, I sorta wondered if someone needed a bunch of bacon for their dog, or for some picky-eater kids, something like that. I'd have to assume the bacon was on the side, or the stack would be immense :-)

The article talks about talk radio and forums spreading the "stay away from Mexican" speil...

However, isn't the official word out of Washington "don't go to Mexico unless necessary"?
Isn't that the same as saying "stay away from immigrant Mexican's here in the US?

No. "Avoid travel to Hong Kong" is not the same as "close the border to all Asians because they might be carrying SARs." The latter unjustly generalizes and vilifies a race when the virus could just as easily hitchhike back on a kid visiting from Idaho. The latter statement is closer to this nonsense:

"Egypt began culling all pigs Thursday although there have been no reported cases of swine flu in that country. China and Russia have banned pork imports from the United States and Mexico, though the WHO says the disease is not transmitted through eating or preparing pork."

How is it remotely the same? Somebody who's been in the US for 20 years is suddenly a threat for contagion just because of the country they originally came from?? wtf....

Not in my opinion. Most of the folks who got it here traveled to Mexico. Are there any documented cases of getting it from an immigrant?

I´m actually posting this from Cancun where I would say less that .5% of people are wearing masks. There´s hot girls in bikinis on the beach and the night clubs are open (not saying i like the nightlife here, i think its absolutely absurd, Im just flying out of here, hopefully, after cetral american trip)
I saw a photo on cnn of people lying on the beach with masks on. this is bull. 250,000 people die every year of normal flu and 7000 alone in mexico. One, one single infant has died of this swine flu.
I think it is beig blown way out of proportion. Just wash your hands and dont snezze on people for gods sake.

Ok...lets just take the Savage guy who said, âNo contact anywhere with an illegal alien!â conservative talk show host Michael Savage advised his U.S. listeners this week on how to avoid the swine flu.

Is there any certian way to tell if an "illegal alien" has been here for 20 years or 20 hours?

One person has died? I heard on the news it was in the hundreds...I guess it is being overblown!
