I drove out west last week to spend a few days on the coast. On the way home we got quite a treat going through Nevada. Dozens and Dozens of Dust Devils were popping up all over the place.

Had two of them get a little pushy with us as we drove past. Both were close to the road and caused our mini van to vear into the other lane. Anyway I managed to capture a few photos in focus as I was driving and then I got brave and pulled over to get some close up shots of one that was dancing in the ditch just on the other side of the road. Here are the results.

That's pretty cool. We have those here in Florida, but they are not often that big in this area.

In the agricultural area near Lake Okechobee, they get a lot larger, and pick up the black muck soil there so it makes them look ominous like tornadoes.

I had never seen them before this so I was a bit freaked out driving past them, Was trying to flash back to a show I watched about them on Discovery Channel and trying to remember if they said anything about them over turning cars etc...

When I was little my mom and I were driving home in mom's tiny Plymouth Champ, and I swear one picked up the front of the car as we ran into it. Mom doesn't really remember it, but I swear it happened.
