For me, this was a very instructive challenge and it forced me to take another look at the ratings process and how I'm approaching it. I think I've found the best way which is to make a first pass through, second pass to rate, a third pass to comment and rerate if necessary. There were some images that I saw during the first pass that I had to rerate higher, a couple of them much higher, when I went into comment mode.
A lot of good images in this challenge and two that challenged me because I had a choice to rate images lower than they should have been because they were very distasteful to me personally rather than rating them on their technical and artistic merit. Very interesting - I had thought I was past that at my age. :>)

I also got a comment from him. I was surprised by the quality of his comment (which is indeed very helpfull, pointing at both qualities and issues with my entry), and was even more surprised when I checked his profile: only 1 single challenge entry, but he really did a LOT of high quality comments. |

| This is the first time that I am truly baffled by the votes that I have received. With my train entry I really took my time and thought it was a good entry where as my Tack entry I rushed it and really hate it. I thought that I would seriously be in the running for the brown on the Tacks entry. I even debated whether or not I should put it in until the last minute. Well my Tacks entry is at a 5.04 where my train entry is at a 5.03. This is weird. LOL I expected the train entry to get much higher and the tacks entry to be much lower than where they both currently stand. HMMM |
