New car! 2008 Ford Escape AWD, moonroof, leather, a photographer's car... No stooping to get gear in the trunk, lay it all out in the back at waist height, and the liftgate provides shelter if the weather is iffy, which it was today. Anyhow, say "hi" the Bear and Karma's new ride. The entire xhaust system fell off the old jeep as I pulled into the dealership to make the swap LOL. Perfect timing.
Naturally I topazed 'em, LOL. Except the first I didn't...

LOL, I know all about your "iffy" weather! Yep, parts of me took weeks to thaw!
Should be a very nice photographer's car; I agree that the weather protection afforded by the liftgate can be wonderful. It's one (of many) reasons I love my Jetta wagon so much. |

Looks a bit soft for a Bear! All that Beige Leather and big soft seats:)
I thought you would have an old beatup truck, with claw marks down the side and teeth marks on the steering wheel?? But you are a Teddy Bear really:)) |

I had no choice: the Jeep died a painful death at 195,000 miles and 16 years of age. Woulda cost me twice what the car was worth to keep it running. And in the meanwhile the dealers are desperate to move inventory, so I got this one for like a 10K discount under book price, so... But the 5D is totally out of reach now, LOL.

I *did* have a 13-yr-old Jeep, scratchy as all get-out. I've earned some comfort for my old age...

Congratulations on your new toy. You (and Karma) will love the Escape. I loved driving ours and it's now my hubby's car. I went for something a bit smoother and quiet for my clients (real estate). Yours is much fancier than ours :) but you have most certainly earned it! Put it to good use getting those wonderful shots! |

That's kind of scary to think Art and I came to the same vehicle independently...

I have a dog as well. Two of them actually. But they both have asses. Other than that, you & I are like two peas in a bowl of alphabet soup. :) |

HEY, instead of sitting in here preening about your new truck, you should be glued to your monitor answering interview questions!!
Get to it boy!

Well, Robert, I have a vehicle similar to yours only in the 4WD version and Hybrid. I cannot agree with you more on the lift-gate. It comes in mighty handy when shooting in less than optimum conditions if you can get the vehicle where the camera needs to be. I suppose in your environs it may be easier to do that in than mine. Congrats on the purchase! I hope it serves you well!
And for the record, it ain't easy being me either. ;)
