I have a 3 year old Gateway GX7022E, that has a built in sound card. Recently a high pierced steady sound is emanating at the about 10kb range, and is quite irritating. I'm guessing my card is going bad.I do no gaming, so I don't need anything fancy, or expensive. I just need a card that has a optical output and will play in stereo, and is less than $50 the lower the better. Any advice? Thank you..
BTW I run XP, SP3

You can usually get a cheap Creative SoundBlaster 24bit for $30. Just browse your local electronics dealers. |
