Hey guys,
I'm going on a hiking trip in a few weeks and looking forward to several days of shooting with my 5D. However, the problem is that the LP-E6 batteries are basically not available, or are available with ridiculous markup. There are, however, tons of 3rd party batteries available on eBay. Now, the question is, would you guys use 3rd party batteries in your cameras? and if so, is there a specific brand you would recommend? Really need to get a couple of spares.
Cheers.

Sterlingtek.
Some people will go on and on about 3rd party batteries and make you think that they will explode as soon as you switch your camera on, but I've never had a problem. |

| I have an Impact battery for my 50D. I've only used it once, but the camera still works and it seemed to hold up as long as the Canon battery. |

| I have a couple of aftermarket batteries from Ultralast. The batteries have more power than the kit battery and are less expensive. I've had them about a year now and no problems. |

| I bought one for my Rebel last year, "Impact" brand. It only lasted 2 months. |
