I haven't submitted anything there in ages. It's only my second pay out. The first one was $56, this one was $51. I also got one for $55 from 123RF a while back. I'm at about $26 there now, so still a while to go.

I love the variety in your portfolio. Again, congrats! That must be exciting for you to be able to sell your photos like that.

Congrats Max on being able to finish a difficult day with such wonderful news. Elwyn - what a very interesting name. I like it!

boy this afternoon while I was at the funerals, his name is Elwyn 7lbs 8ozs so there's the good news. I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread :)

Thank you for reading.

Hey Max, I know it's been a rough couple of weeks for you. I think the birth of your Godchild's baby is just what was needed. Remember your friends, carry them in your heart, and now look forward. Hugs!!

And congrats, Katherine - great news!

I've been asked to shoot a wedding. I'm terrified. I also have been asked to provide a picture to Canvas On Demand for the organization I work for to raffle off at a conference and serve as advertising, more or less, for the services Canvas on Demand provides.

This is the shot we'll be using, cropped a bit to meet the size requirements:

Congrats Deb, that's a fine image, and the C.O.D. people are nice folks.

I know what you mean about the wedding......I'm going to do my first one in September, and even though it's more going to be a gathering of friends, it's still the real deal.....not like you can go back for a redo.

The upside is is that it's at The Old Maryland Inn in Annapolis so I'll be spending the day in one of the most beautiful seaports in the country, just rife with history and lovely scenery.

Hope we do good, huh?......8>)

I only had time to go look at the little feller yesterday and I'm really short on time today because we have to leave right after work for the city so our youngest son can get ready for

more filming, but I'm trying to finish early today so I can get to the hospital to get some shots :) So soon I hope :)

MAX!

Oh and thank you Deb for your kind words. This is a great place to belong.

Thank you Michelle, it's his Grandfathers middle name, I think it's because of his pointy ears but no one will cop to it so I have to go with the information I have.

Lea, it's so nice to see you back and I hope all is well with you and yours. So your packing again, that's GREAT. We should GTG again soon now that spring is here. I need to get out with

like minded people and do some shooting so lets try and set something up shall we?

I'll correct my other post about the name in this one, it's his Great Grandfathers middle name NOT his Grandfathers middle name, sorry about that :)

Hm, just noticed I've been a (mostly silent) part of DPC since 2006, and I've only entered 83 challenges. It seems some of you top that number each year! My renewal is coming up (and I am renewing, and can cover it myself), and while I may not be able to participate as actively I do enjoy watching from the sidelines.

I had an idea for weekly recognition within Team Suck: a weekly "Featured User" (FU). I could gather all of the Team Suck entrants for the week, and pick a name from that group. Anyone selected wouldn't qualify again for some amount of time (6 months? until N other people have been FU'd?). I'll make a special post about that FU, possibly leaving interview-like questions, picking some appealing images from their portfolio without many comments, etc. If I picked someone on Tuesday night, I could realistically have something posted by Thursday or Friday.

Picking a FU from the active people that week, instead of someone at random from all of Team Suck, rewards those who are participating. People like me will have to enter more challenges to get a shot at this.

Thoughts?

I like it! Especially the dual use of the acronym. Seems very fitting for Team Suck. :-)

I figure that's what the FU's will be saying to me when I send them interview-like questions..

I think this is a wonderful way for us to get to know other members of Team Suck.

I can't wait to be F.U.'d!

It's nice to have some fresh ideas.

Don't be dismayed if there are users that have no idea they are on Team Suck or don't respond to interview questions.

If you randomly select a entrant for the week, maybe the "winning" team's prize is to suggest some interview questions.
03/26/2009 06:15:24 PM · #593
I like the idea, bring it on :) Don't feel bad about the number of challenges you have entered I have been here since 06 also and have only done 71 so you are more active then I have been.

Me too! Don't make the questions too hard, LOL! I'm never sure who actually wins anymore since all I see are boxes with x's in them.

Wow, interesting assortment of news in the last 24 hours...hope I don't miss anyone...

Max, again my condolences and obviously congrats are in order too! Now get on them baby pix!

Katherine, you rock. Knock em dead with your pix, you've got the talent.

And Meyers, hey there, long time no see...sure, I wouldn't mind being FU'd at some point in time! :-)

ETA: Kelli, congrats on the payouts from Fotolia...I haven't submitted stuff in ages and now they've changed things around, guess I better do something if I ever want to get a payout!

If people don't answer, then I'll just make up some answers. It might not be accurate, but it'll be entertaining!

Hee, hope you get the opportunity to put that plan in to action! This is a great idea.

For a while, they did Team Suck interviews but they stopped. It would be cool to see them again.
