Certainly not the opinion of any American I've ever talked to. I dare to say if it was the typical American's view it wouldn't be "news worthy".

There are idiots in every society, unfortunately most of theirs are in the media.

It is a Fox show, Just like Family Guy, King of the Hill or the Simpsons, It should not be taken too seriously.

This is "SHOCK JOURNALISM" with an emphasis on shock and hardly any actual journalism. Fox goes for shows that draw controversy. That's what they're known for. I'd ignore it for the most part. Heck, I never even knew that show existed until this post. I only watch two shows on Fox "House" and "Kitchen Nightmares."

Then you're missing out on "Hell's Kitchen", dude... :-)

Good grief!

Can you for one second believe anyone would ask this question having seen that clip?????

Kind of. I'm just noting that you're kind of on one of your "take everything way more personally than you should" days, and winkingly joking about it.
I honestly don't think BeeCee thinks that all americans are like that, or that it's a typical attitude. You kind of have to be in a Canadian's viewpoint to understand why she worded it like that. We get bombarded with this kind of moronic viewpoint on a very daily basis, and sometimes when we sit back with jaw dropped and eyes unblinking, it's hard to remember that 90% of american society is pretty A-Ok

They're definitely typical of a-holes. Now, were you being mean to me in that NM post? HMM? lol.

Just trying to back out of any hostility.

I honestly don't know who watches this show. It doesn't come on until around 3am and from what I've seen, the panel is made up mostly of comedians and no actual journalists.

Red Eye with Greg Gutfield -- never watched it. Seems pretty lame: Snickering at the name "Leslie?" Mocking "Mounties?" Fearing that Canada's regrouping of strength will cause Russia to invade Alaska? It's just poor comedy, with some really dumb, unfunny talking heads. Perhaps the show should be called "Brown Eye" instead.

My boss's name is Leslie, and he's cool.

Another friend of mine was named Leslie, too....but nobody ever gave him a hard time since he carried a .357 and could stare you down even if he didn't have it.

Would it surprise you that several of the people that you saw on that abortion of a TV show originally hailed from Canada? That show is one more thing that makes me happy I dropped cable a couple of years ago.

Canada is a valuable ally to the US. Where else could we find
someone like Slippy? He's the Jack Bauer of Canada! While the whole Canadian army is resting from a job well done, Slippy will be on duty. Protecting democracy from the evil doers!

Who's Jack Bauer?

Kiefer Sutherland, TV show "24 Hours", interesting show conceptually actually. Kind of a super agent type, he is, but not in the overdressed Bond style, more gritty and dysfunctional.

I did actually look it up, but I don't watch TV, and considering the popularity of that show, I am kind of proud of the fact that I didn't know the name.

I much prefer to read.....and hang out in this stupid place!......8>)

The sad part is that when discussing the acceptability of torture to get information from captive terrorists, some in the previous U.S. administration said, "Well it works for Jack Bauer."

I watched the clip and to be honest I cannot get angry at people that are so clueless. Misguided attempts at humour such as this most certainly are not reflective of American society as a whole. I have had the good fortune of traveling extensively in the USA and have met countless numbers of wonderful people.

As it relates to the Canadian military, I take great pride in our involvement in Afghanistan. Having spent 30 years in the ranks of the RCMP, I can assure you that the comments made regarding this fine organization are so far removed from the truth that they made me cringe.

So to you BeeCee I say... forget the comments made by these idiots... I have no doubt they took the short bus to school.

Yeah, maybe I'm just finding it hard to be objective. When you see your daughter like this it kind of hurts to hear the boy in the casket being mocked as needing a break to practice yoga and play on the beach. I'm sure he'd love to have the chance again to do those things.

I do know it's simply the rantings of a few imbeciles trying to up their ratings and I apologise to anyone who may have felt I was aiming at them. It just really made me angry, probably out of proportion.
