Congrats!! That's what we do all our lives, build bridges with new ventures, new friendships and greater understanding of our fellow man...and woman:))

So true :))

I hate to rain on the happy parade, but I've lost two friends this week, one on Monday and another on Thursday. Both from massive heart attacks, both in their mid 50's so I'm a little down right now.

My wife took this time to remind me that I need to look after myself better, me thinks she's right. The worst part about their passing is that I saw both of them the day before they died and I asked both of them how they were feeling because they didn't look to good and both of them replied that they felt fine but just a little tired and the next day they both died, it's just to spookie for words :(

Again sorry for the somber news, I just needed to tell someone and I knew you guys would understand.

Thank you

Condolences.....and listen to your wife!

You only get ONE chance to do something about it before it's too late.

I've lost a couple friends to age and lifestyle related issues, not to mention the friends that I have who are dealing daily with the aftermath of diabetes, strokes, heart disease, and fun things like having your carotid arteries opened up and cleaned out with the medical equivalent of a Roto-Rooter.

My Doc said "Change or Die." and I believed him, and am feeling better for it.

Take care of yourself, for yourself, AND....the people who love you.

Max, my most sincere condolences on the loss of your friends. And I agree with Jeb, now is not too late to make important lifestyle changes. (hugs)

Oh dear. Matt, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm to blame for your apparent non-suckdom ways... Perhaps I should be publicly flogged??

Man, I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't lost anyone significant to me in my entire life, so I have a hard time knowing what that must feel like. I'm approaching that age group rather quickly though, so it's a little scary. My condolences.

I know, I've been very non-sucky this year. Both those shots are with the 70-200.

I've been so sucky I haven't been entering much. Or shooting much, for that matter. I'm merely assuming sucky pictures at this point. That's an art. :-)

I, myself, am pretty much just down to submitting for the Free Studies and/or special challenges that are like Free Studies. I don't even know why. I blame it on the extended winter, but there has to be more to it than that. I've shot a few things for 1-second, but I don't personally like any of them, and if I don't personally like something these days, it never makes it off the camera.

Max, I'm so sorry for your loss. Take care, and please try to remember the good times you had with your friends.

Thank you all for your kind words, it was difficult to deal with the first death and now having two deaths to deal with it's.... well exhausting for the families and me too.

Death is a devastating thing for everyone close to the deceased, make sure you hold your friends close and your family closer. Never pass up the opportunity to say I love you.

Hey, just processing some more Honduras shots......was considering saving this for the FS, but I already have an entry, so I'm kickin' this one loose.

I was fairly proud of this one with the old, slow D70s....hand-held in the street by the light of the sodium lamps & the moon.

This one's from the next morning outside of Copàn....I loved the tree framed against the misty mountain.

Sorry to hear this Max. Two losses in one week must be awfully difficult to digest. Hugs and hope your outlook improves as the week moves on.

I wonder why people feel the need to publicly state they're leaving the website?

I guess I just don't get it. Let's make a pact. No Team Suck member will ever publicly state they're leaving DPC! We'll just go quietly into the night!

Well, ok, sending PMs to people we like is acceptable too ;D

I've wondered the exact same thing several times.

I've been a member of several different web communities. When it was time for me to go, whether it was over a disagreement with the establishment, I outgrew the purpose, or whatever, I just stop logging in.

No announcement is needed unless, IMO, there is another purpose for making the announcement.

Maybe it is code or something.

You know, "I leaving" means "I've ordered a pizza tonight."

"I'm not renewing because everybody hears sucks" translates "I'm ordering a pizza with lots of anchovies,"

etc.
