True, that is usually a copy/paste, with some editing for the specifics of the image. After I had written a similar paragraph 2 dozen times, it made sense. If people feel that my comments on compression are a simple copy/paste without any thought behind them, I will quit doing it. I want to be fair here.

Not at all. I just was not totally sure if you were being humorous. (Sometimes it does not carry across in a text post.) I know I'm the compression police at times.

I think it devalues the award for those who put in more effort to analyze a photo and get a 100% comment award, but I suppose there are no stipulations except to write something on each entry...

Judi, I would consider making a rule that to receive your banners that each comment at least be unique to the entry that is being commented upon. Just my opinion.


me and judi have already talked about it, i think i should not get the 400+ comments ribbon, i told judi that i would might not be doing the 100% comments club and that i would neaver say "nice shot" or "great shot" ever again. so if any one who is reading this, received a comment from me saying "nice shot" or "great shot" i am very very sorry,

Hi Connor,
I was not trying to pick on you. I think commenting is one of the most effective ways to improve your photography. It is not easy to garner these ribbons that Judi has come up with because it can be difficult to come up with something of value or at all to say for every image you see. I wanted to make sure that people didn't feel slighted when they put in the effort to get this ribbon by making an honest judgment or critique of each image, while others could put in comment filler and get the same ribbon. I hope you continue to try and make the 100% comment club. I am not sure an apology is in order, since at the beginning of the thread it doesn't say you can't say the same thing on many of the images. And on many of the entries you did add what it is you enjoyed about the image. But that is why I asked Judi to put that clause in to make sure that each comment is unique to receive the award.

@ rodfulk, My comment wasn't directed at you, I know nothing about what you are talking about. I sent you a PM. I hope I didn't discourage you in anyway, and certainly not being a hater.

No worrys. It was I that made the mistake of not reading the tread well enough.
I am sorry if Icame across to boldly, I had just finish commenting on the last few and wasn't sure that I would get done in time. I was trying hard to make unique comment on every one, Hard for me a guy of few words to do. Sorry for the momentary laspe of ("reason") passion.

I have now updated the first post of this thread with the following rules.

RULES -

You must comment on all but your own entry in one challenge.
Please copy and paste your commenting stats (if possible) from the challenge to this thread.
You MUST leave individual comments. No copying & pasting allowed...unless you expand on each comment individually.
If you notice somebody leaving replicate comments please do not harass them privately or publicly...instead notify myself via a PM and I will look into the situation.
Anybody who doesn't make the expectations of this challenge will receive a good try ribbon and will receive a PM from me explaining why and how they can improve.
Anybody that is found to be breaching these rules will not get a ribbon from this challenge thread.

Now with that been said...I am leaving in 2 days for the Northern Territory....so please feel free to post in this thread and I will catch up with it when I get back. With the cyclone hanging over us...I have no idea what I am in for...but I do know there will be plenty of crocodiles...yayyyyyy! I can't wait. I love getting in with those creatures.

Connor....even though we discussed your comments on this challenge...the fact is that you still completed it. So in fairness, I am rewarding you with a Good Try ribbon. I look forward to seeing your new

Rodney, I am aware that you started out this challenge with your copy and paste style...but once you were corrected on your method, you promptly continued commenting with

WOW, WOW, WOW......can you believe this....over 1100 entries in this Hidden Gem Challenge. That means over 1100 comments get handed out in one hit, many times over. So for the
members who are brave (and I mean brave), not only do you get sore hands and tired eyes, but think how much you have learnt from your comments. And think of all the new favourites
you have added to your collection. I just had to make a very special ribbon for this celebration...and trust me when I say that you are all so very deserving of this ribbon.

Now I know there are some members who have also completed this challenge but haven't quoted their stats in this thread...so please let them know to paste their stats here so I can

LOL!!! If you click 'quote' on the post with the ribbon and then just copy the text for the ribbon you want and then paste it into your bio, it will then link to the challenge that you commented on.
