Remarkable capture! You need to contact National Geographic or something ΓΆ€” if I'm not mistaken, this is the fabled, preternaturally elusive Ostrich Trout of the far Canadian North. For many years this species was thought to be a myth, rather like the Unicorn, but in 1963 Henry S. Berenson, of Manitoba, brought back from a wilderness expedition a blurry, amateurish snapshot, captured at a considerable distance, of this fish.
Following that, teams of scientists descended on the frozen North hoping to verify this sighting, but they had no luck whatsoever.
In an eerie coincidence, Henry (a petroleum geologist) bears the middle name "Strikeslip"; although it cannot be proven, there's a distinct possibility that Henry is the uncle of our own Slippy, and that it is Henry's picture of the Ostrich Trout that inspired Slippy to begin toting his camera around during his own expeditionary wanderings.
As far as I know, this is only the second time the Ostrich Trout has been photographed. Kudos to you!

Haha Bear! I have the other end of that fish right here. It didn't score very well at DPC, though.

I just uploaded a ton of Topaz adjusted pics from our Tuscany trip last September. I know some of you don't like the overprocessing, but it definitely gives a different "feeling" to the images...Check them out if you like...
