I couldn't resist this scene, I was driving along the Icefields Parkway toward Jasper and saw this huge area completely untouched by man or beast. So I slammed on the breaks and packed my gear and headed out. Little did I know that the snow I was walking on which at the time only seemed a few inches deep was actually much deeper. I made it about 30 feet into the field and sank up to my waste in snow, the cold feeling that rushed up the inside of my legs was not pleasant to say the least lol. But looking up and toward my goal I quickly forgot about the cold and pushed my way through the snow where I ended up taking the shortest route to a small nearby creek to make my trek a little easier and to disturb the least amount of snow so others can enjoy the beauty of the area. Even with water proof shoes standing in only a couple inches of glacier fed water my feet were pretty much numb after an hour or so that I spent out there shooting everything in sight. Anyway this is one of my favorite from that hike. I have more to post but that may take a while.

One more thing, upon leaving this winter wonderland I had a bit of a panic attack as when I got back to my car and started driving, just around a bend about 200m from where I was parked was a sign... "Avalanche Zone Ends." oops :)
