I just delivered my 7000th comment in the Calendar challenge this afternoon. With 8424 votes cast, that's an 83% comment to vote rate. Even if you consider that some of those comments were outside voted challenges, I still think it's worth tooting my horn over.


Heavy commenters, toot your horn here! Let's see who has earned the right to complain about lack of comments.

Don't think you're going to find many people who can come even close to rivaling you. Exceptional effort mate!

Sherpet might not have your impressive vote/comment percentage but, just look at her comments cast!

That's 19.8%, which is relatively high, IMO.

38%, darn high and a lot more commenting over a much longer time than myself!

Not to take anything away from what you have accomplished, but the comments also include portfolio images. Regardless though, 7000 comments is absolutely incredible. I am getting close to 1000, so I have a far way to go before I come close to your level of commitment.

Thank you also for all of the times you commented on my images.

I guess my thing is that when I read everybody in the scores thread whose entries are in the 4's and 5's and wondering what is wrong with it, I feel obligated to leave comments on any 4 or less, and for most 5's. Hence I cast way fewer votes than most.

I have only given away a small number of comments but I guess the ratio is not too bad:

= 27% comments on average

I just need to make it a habit to take the time to write what I think when I'm looking at any shot, it maybe takes another 30 seconds. Easier to say though than to put into practice as my excuse list is about a mile long...

Note that the stats for me, Judy, and Shez include lots of comments on portfolio images. I know I like to check recent uploads, wander through portfolios and play in side challenges in addition to commenting on challenge entries. That said, I used to try to comment on 20% of the challenges I voted - don't do that as often as I'd like these days, though. Will try to do about 10% of the FS, though. I'd encourage others to do the same!

Right around 20%, which matches my recent voting method. I vote and comment on the first 20% of the challenge entries and then just vote on the last 80%.

Way to go Yo-Spiff, especailly given your comments are usually meaningful (no "nice shot" or ":)" style comments).
