Thank you for all the suggestions. I will add them to the list. Lets see how the interest grows:-) |

Looking forward to it!
[3],[B] works for me, too, and I'll call and wake up Tim ( rasai) later to read Prash's PM, which, incidentally, I saw about at hour ago at Tim's house while I was helping him archive stuff.
Otherwise, I am pretty flexible (except for Feb. 21/22), and given a week or so, I can take any time off, a joy of being employed part-time. |

If it ends up during the day in the East Bay (and I make it at all), I can probably make either a Saturday or a Sunday. As I mentioned before, you should apply my vote with a substantial discount ... |

Its more than a month away, I can't plan that ahead :D
Count me in for the get together, no such preference, I will try to make it whenever everyone agrees. |

Oh man! Sounds fantastic. I haven't meet any dpc'ers yet and I have been having a heck of a time trying to get friends to join.
Looks like I'll be missing you all on this get together too- I'll be in Southern Thailand all march running youth camps teaching english and bible. Hope to be able to find you all of the next GTG! |

Well that sounds exciting too! Personally, I'd rather do this in April or May when its a bit warmer and light later in the day (Lake Merritt has a ring of lights around it at night). |

Paul,
Your suggestion has weight. Do you wanna suggest a date? Like which Saturday/Sunday? For now it looks like in March. But we can look at postponing it to April sometimes IF most of us are ok with that.
If thats too disturbing, we will keep the current date.
Suggestions, guys?

Hey everyone
If it does hit a different date, I will definitely try to make it out! Maybe meeting some great DPC'ers will help some of my other friends to join. =o) Can't make any promises though, weekends tend to be the busiest times for me- working for a church- night and weekends are normally pretty packed... =oP
And I know there's been talks of maybe a march date, or moving it to april or may... but would there ever be a possibility of just planning quarterly get togethers? Something easy to remember like the first saturday of every third month or something like that? It'd be cool to have some regular contact with you all out here! |

Hi, Tim,
I would be up for quarterly (or half yearly) get togethers. Please feel welcome to suggest such a regular meetup. Lets hope you can make it to this one we are planning, then all of us can talk about the next one the same day... and then if you like, you can start a thread about that. I am all for such events:-)
Re: the dates, I will go over everyone's preferences and try to find a compromise date so most of us can attend. It would be splendid if all of those interested attended.
Thanks for your immense enthusiasm. |

I thought I would mention that also on Saturday mornings, Lake Merritt has a huge Farmer's Market, could be good for candids or just shopping/lunch. It runs from 8 to 1 or 2 pm. This is right by the Grand Lake Theater and just outside the park area. Also the East Side of the Lake's Path is closed as they are doing some construction to replace the old path. This is about a .6 of a mile and opposite the bird area. Not a big deal but just a note if you are thinking of walking around the Lake. You may have to pay for parking because Children's Fairyland should be open and when it is open I think you have to pay to park in the park's lot. I am pretty sure but not positive. I think it is a few dollars for the day or you can just park in the neighborhoods. Fairyland would be a lot of fun to shoot too but for safety reasons you need to have a child with you to enter the park so I haven't been yet. |

Thanks for the tips.
As we close the GTG date, anyone else have any inputs we should be aware of?
Hopefully it doesnt rain that day.. though history always proved me wrong with weather. |
