Well now I'm sure he's with his dear Angel who died last year.
Good day Mr. Harvey |

I'm sure he took his Bose Wave Radio with him to the pearly gates. :)
I spent many years as a radio DJ, and during my first radio job I would air his Rest of the Story, and commentary every day on the small station where I worked. He certainly had a gift for telling stories. I was listening to that station a couple weeks ago and I heard his son doing the commentary segment, and I was wondering how old Paul was doing. Very sad to hear the news. |

I used to really enjoy his "Rest of the Story" segments. And there was a day in Vietnam that his voice brought sad news from my home town, that informed me that three people that I had known most of my life, were killed on the same day. His voice and his speaking style will echo in my ears a long time.
I'll miss him...

Holy Crap, something else we have in common, Alan. I did small market radio in conservative, Bible Belt, Texas. Paul Harvey was an institution there. No day started without News And Comment ("Good Day!") or ended without The Rest of the Story ("and now you know"). I didn't always agree with him, but probably the most damage he did (at least there, then) was to spawn a breed of Paul Harvey soundalikes who adopted his staccato sing-song delivery to sell cars and furniture.
Sorry to hear the news... |

I've listened to Armed Forces Radio for most of my adult life. I always looked forward to hearing him. Sad news. |
