Childhood Memories Side Challenge!

Re-create or represent a childhood memory in a photo. (Doesn't have to be yours!) It can be representative of any childhood experiences, memories or whatever represents childhood to you. The definition of it is very loose so, don't worry about sticking to a precise definition of it. Just shoot whatever it means to you.

Be creative and don't worry about technicals or rules. Use filters, borders, creative framing! Portray childhood memories or chilhood to us so that we all feel like we're seeing your thoughts through your eyes or, how you view it now. Let us see and experience what you felt or are feeling about it. Experiment with techniques and don't worry about what would make it to the top 10 in the regular challenges. Just have some FUN with this. Your only aim is to make us feel that photo!

There's no sign-up needed. Just enter as you have one. You can enter as many as you like and we'll keep on going as long as people have shots to enter. Please just make sure to comment on at least 2 photos for every entry you've put in. It would be great if you could comment on more too!

As for commenting:

Instead of worrying about the technicals and the usual things that we all comment in during regular, weekly challenges, concentrate on giving the photographer what you got out of his/her shot. Tell the photographer how you related to it or what memory it invoked in you. Tell them why their photo hit that memory in you and how it affected you.

Our aim in this challenge is being EMOTIVE. Paint a story with your photo!

Anyone interested?

ADDED NOTE:

This is "open" but, please remember that there are sensitivities and younger people entering or looking. So, if your memory is not a "happy" memory, (which is also welcome), please keep it non-graphic in nature. :)

I know it's going to take some time to come up with something. I hope that everyone DOES take their time and really "gets into" their photo! I'd like to see everyone reflect their memories onto us so that we can see it through their eye's or mind's eye and feel it.

Even I've got my wheels turning here!

I'm sure that all of us have childhood memories...lots of them....that could be expressed in photos so, take your time, but please....let's ENJOY this bit of creativity!! It's a chance to explore ourselves and our photographic ability to relay what we feel from our memories along with experimenting with techniques both in photographing them as well as in editing. Play around, enjoy and have fun! I'm going to!

PS: FORGET THE RULES!!! Just photograph.

I am really trying to think of something for this...but I do not have small children or grandchildren around...so that adds to my challenge...(I am in the blissful "take a breath stage" right now!!)

LOL...so am I Janine. My daughter is 26 and no grandchildren either yet.

I was thinking of our own childhood memories and recreating that memory somehow. It seems that not a lot of people are interested in it at this moment. Likely due to DPCO and other side challenges going on. I think that perhaps, down the road, it may be an idea though! I may have to refine this to a more open concept so that there isn't the struggle to come up with an idea and leave it more open. I just haven't thought of it yet.

So, Jamie...can I take a photograph of any "childhood memory"...not necessarily mine...but something that makes a "childhood memory" for anyone....this might make it a little more "broader" of a subject...what ya think...my childhood was sooooooo long ago...not sure if I could recreate anything from that era (that is not without wking with actors/sets....which I don't have access to!!)...hmmmm

Sure....wherever your imagination takes you!!! Feel free! And, I know what you mean about trying to "re-create" that era. It's pretty hard. Just do whatever your mind creates!!! No rules here! :)
