As much as I appreciate the effort, writing the same comment on every entry shouldn't count towards 100% commenting club in my opinion.

I will try to better.
Sometimes I think that a good shot comment is better than nothing.
I don't always know how to improve the photo as I'm no expert, however if I can think of something that will I say so.
Your point was well taken, thank you for commenting.

Good to see your comments in the March Unconv. Side Challenge are more than just "Good Shot".

I'm not a fan of the "Good Shot" comment... especially when I saw that it had been given to almost all (if not all) the shots you commented on... nothing would have been as useful in this instance.

In regards to not knowing how to improve the shot... you don't need to be an expert to have an opinion. You might know what it is you like about a shot and/or what you don't like about it... write that as your comment. Sometime you don't know exactly why you like it or dislike it... in such instances, I ask myself is it the colour, composition, subject etc etc... if this doensn't help, you can opt to not leave a comment OR you could say something like "I really like this shot, don't know why, but I do". You should find that
1. you'll rarely not know why you like/dislike a photo,
2. your comments would be more useful to the photographer,
3. your comments will take more time to write (not everything about this can be positive).

Congratulations on your efforts to date, and a huge congratulations and thank you for trying to do better, and not giving up on commenting.

Rodney. This is your first attempt at 100% comments. And whilst the other members are right in the fact that you need to pay a
little more attention to your comments I would still like to reward you for your effort in the form of a Good Try ribbon. Well done.
I look forward to rewarding you with other ribbons soon.

You copy and pasted "great shot" on every entry. I think to accept the award you should make honest comments about each entry and not just copy and paste something to get an award. Not trying to be harsh. I think it devalues the award for those who put in more effort to analyze a photo and get a 100% comment award, but I suppose there are no stipulations except to write something on each entry...

Judi, I would consider making a rule that to receive your banners that each comment at least be unique to the entry that is being commented upon. Just my opinion.

Yea I hear ya, I've been getting a "Good Shot" comment every challenge lately, can't complain :) of course, but wondering if they really mean it! Ehh, at least they don't any money for it.
03/08/2009 12:49:52 AM · #645
Wrong! I honestly made heart felt comments on the free study. But if you don;t think I need it ,Okay. No big deal.
I said that I started making coments like nice shot, good shot,etc...
But that I would do better, which I did. Which only shows youcan't please everyone.
So. Thanks anyway.

Well done rodfulk. I know that the comments I have got from you of late are substantially more useful than the "Good Shot" ones you were dishing out willy-nilly before. And just looking at the other comments you've made on the Free Study and elsewhere, you've been true to your word... I for one am very appreciative of the effort you've made and want to congratulate you on the phenomenal effort it took to get 100% comments on a Free Study... well done... pay no attention to the haters. :)

Also... reckon you deserve a "most improved commentor" ribbon... if such a thing exists.

ETA: "most improved" comment

me and judi have already talked about it, i think i should not get the 400+ comments ribbon, i told judi that i would might not be doing the 100% comments club and that i would neaver say "nice shot" or "great shot" ever again. so if any one who is reading this, received a comment from me saying "nice shot" or "great shot" i am very very sorry,

i hope you can forgive me

I guess I can stop leaving a comment of "interesting" on all of yours now. (I was trying to be subtle)

True, that is usually a copy/paste, with some editing for the specifics of the image. After I had written a similar paragraph 2 dozen times, it made sense. If people feel that my comments on compression are a simple copy/paste without any thought behind them, I will quit doing it. I want to be fair here.
