That's pretty cool. I'll have to get my hands on one of those.

yea, if you consider how expensive the underwater housing is for the G9, this is a steal. And the mounting points, carabiner cable, etc, look interesting, too.

If you consider how inexpensive the underwater housing is for the G9/G10, that is a steal. (The G9/G10 waterproof housing is about a 10th of the cost of a housing for my other camera) That and the G10 takes quite usable RAW files and can work with accessory flashes underwater quite easily.

Judging from recent new camera announcements, the latest trend seems to be for underwater/waterproof/ruggedized point-and-shoots. Interestingly, the mega-pixel race seems to have stabilised at about 10mp. Let's hope it stays that way until they improve on noise and dynamic range.

right--if you already own a g9 or 10, then the underwater housing add on is less than this camera.

Yup--this looks good for "weather": I wouldn't want to use an underwater housing to go shooting in the rain or snow. When they say it works to 14 deg F, I wonder how much they had to do to achieve that? Or is it a matter of "document it and call it a feature" ?

14 deg F isn't really very exciting. I've used quite a few cameras well below -20F without any problems. Not sure it is much of a feature, similar to works at 100F isn't really a feature around here.

The camo clip-on is a real feature though.

What we really need to know is whether it will work at 14°F *underwater*!

Do I sense a new challenge suggestion coming on....? Winner gets a Darwin Award Ribbon (in the Posthumous thread)?

Man, Canon doesn't get to use pre-number D's! That's our deal!

Nikon was kind of late to the party with that.

Yea, but it seems that the Canon D__ numbers are going down! D30 to D10... Nikon is headed in the correct Direction :-)
