John, I guess because of the copyright stink I've caused. It was all so simple, but seems so many took offence of my good intent. I mean well as I̢۪ve been in the entertainment industry for years and only try to help those that don̢۪t understand. |

OK. I read some of that thread and do not have a strong opinion. Have to admit with my paintings I always use the circle with the letter c inside for copyrighting.

Your concerns are well noted and they have all been addressed before actually. This discussion was hashed out in detail when the site became a membership site and the terms of service was written.
In a nutshell, it boils down to this:
If you do not trust the site administrators and the site council, you should probably hold on to your original images. I trust the administrators and the rest of the site council. I have no fear of my images being abused in any way by these people. I understand that everyone else won't feel this way though.

I understand. I use that also, but when submitting an original RAW photo, unless you have mailed and received your copyright validation, you are sending your works away with no validation in the DPC agreement as to their ownership rights.
Since it's Christmas Eve, I should stop, I guess. Ashamed that so many good photographers are letting this slip by them. I've seen it in the music industry too. Good works stolen, all with good intent and trust, but stolen nonetheless.
Merry Christmas John. :)

John S. Try to understand from my perspective. I don't know anyone here, so to me, that trust isn't there. This is a business, one can't be expected to accept that because a name on the computer screen says they trust the business that everything is ok. Would you buy a new car from a man on the side of the road? Would you trust your car with a man on the side of the road?
I would love to have a trusting relationship with the people here, but for now the reality is, they have no protection clause in their contract for the artists. Those that don't know them as well as you. :)
