DPChallenge.com is less than fifteen challenges away from posting this momentous challenge that has taken over seven arrive. I don̢۪t think we need to take this challenge lightly; we need a special challenge, a challenge with a theme that̢۪s as significant as the occasion, a theme that we haven̢۪t seen in the previous seven years.
With only a few weeks before the 1000th challenge is posted lets weigh in on what we would like the theme to be by filling out the form below.
UPDATE: The NEXT challenge to be announced will be the 1000th challenge. Input your suggestion!
You can fill out the form as many times as you wish.
Tell us what theme you would like the 1000th challenge to consist of by posting here.
View results here. Updated every 5 minutes.
Thanks,
Scott
EDIT: Results update every 5 minutes.

Barring no 'Special Challenges,' shouldn't this fall on Sunday the 22nd of Feb.? Or am I discombogulated in my numbers to calendar date figuring?

If my calculations are right and there's no extra challenge between now in then it seems to be the challenge to be announced Sunday, February 22, 2009.

Oh, well then, it should be a Member Challenge, by all means!

How about this for the 1001st challenge:

This makes me wonder. Who has entered the most challenges of that (almost) 1000 so far? I'll venture a guess that it's GeneralE with his 599 challenges. |

I entered my theme. I think it's a good one.
There have been several good themes suggested.
Thanks everyone for participating. Maybe langdon will use one of our suggestions.

Good idea, Scott.
How about this: If Langdon doesnt use an idea from this list for the 1000th challenge, we boycott DPC ;-) |

The only way to have the 1000th Challenge is to have a Free Study...in your choice of the four editing options. And you can only enter one of the four choices and you can only vote on the Editing Challenge of your choice...so if a member doesn't like a particular style of editing....then cannot hammer it with low votes.

Perhaps a Free Study with date-of-original anytime from January, 2002 until now? Imagine the scramble to wade through seven years of images to make your choice!

Two great ideas.
I wish I could edit my idea to further expliain my suggestion. I thought by having a(nother) "My corner of the world challenge", we could show how DPC has grown to cover many places on the planet...

why not implement google docs form so users can fill in the ideas, and lets say next week vote with checkboxes for the winner ... and langdon "takes it" ? |
