Now Jeb, don't get upset just because you couldn't get a little second grade puzzle. You should have done what I did. After a few minutes I gave up and googled it on the internet and got the answer. See, I just used the technological tools at my disposal. I'll bet those stinking little second graders would never have thought of that.

Are you using an external flash? If so, you're probably getting an unsynched flash. Shutter is too fast for the flash. If this is the case, you need to keep your shutter below the flash's top speed, or switch your flash to High-speed synch if it has the option.

Read manuals or the internet for more technical mumbojumbo about it ;)

I'm on dialup, so I'm already a gazillion technomiles behind everyone else, esp Chinese 2nd graders.

With the XTI your shutter will need to be 1/200 or slower I think.

I'm in the running for another new PB! That'd be 2 in 2009, I'm liking the start to this year. Let's hope the score holds!

Okay.....so I'm basically happy with my "Best of" image. Though it's not what I'd hoped, at least it looks like it'll stay above 6.

I think the part that pleases me the most for you is that there is probably tougher judging going on in that challenge.

That must be an exceptional image! Way to go!!

Thanks Jeb! It's one I was excited about from the moment I took it. I am quite pleased as well. I feel like I'm finally starting to break past a plateau and I have been having a creative surge that has just been plain fun.

Be guardedly optimistic about the creative surge......more often than not when that happens to me......it's just gas.....8>)

My Best of is sub-6 and falling. Dropped 0.3 or so in the past day and a half. Ah well. Still one of my favorite pics of the year, so I'm good with it.

Jeb, don't sweat the user who fav'd your image. Just accept it gracefully. Probably not a good idea to "call him out" in the forum anyway. Perhaps just trying to get his feet wet and a feel for the place?

No challenge entries after Best of in the running for me at the moment. I have been shooting - been playing with the Lensbaby a bit. Have shot for Single Tree, but will have to determine if any of them are worth entering in a challenge. May shoot for Sound, since that seems like an interesting challenge.

Not calling him out....

Did you look at the name? And the long list of favs?

If that's real, I'm flattered.
