OK, new theory: ppl are voting down pics with people in them, thinking the subject should only be the glasses themselves.
Anyone care to validate or contradict that theory? |

lol, I got nothing, but just wanted to add that I'm very surprised to see absolutely everyone met the challenge theme! Thought this would really point out those who don't read the challenge description. Could this mean people really do read it? |

Actually, there are two I can think of that DNMC because no actual glasses are in the photo, but that's just me... |

I think Judy explained it best in saying that "the tides have turned". Voters tastes seem to be different these days - which in a sense is good (but not always logical to me lol). Just another sign of growth at DPC.

Don't know what to think. This is my very first challenge and I really thought I'd do better. In any case, at least it challenges me to shoot something different. Good thing there's no nudes or else I'd be lost for sure. lol

I think they all met the challenge (except for one shoe-horn)... "Simply include eye ware in your entry." haha. It seems like the challenge writers always like to leave a little loophole so we have something to talk about all week! :) |

Mine isn't terribly exciting, admittedly, it was shot more with stock use in mind. BUT, the composition is strong, the focus is good, and the exposure is good. Technically, it is a good picture.
At least that is what I would say about it on a critique club critique.
BUT, it doesn't show a lot of visible post processing, and doing that usually gains me a least .75 of a point. :P |

Sure, that, too.
But, and admittedly I'm asking you to trust me as a long-time DPCer who has his share of high scores, my entry is sharp, well-composed, well-lit, and uses glasses as a central feature. It's not a lower-quality image. And it's sitting at 4.9.
For those who say tastes have changed, to what?

I'm definitely missing the mark on this one and, I too, thought it was a pretty humorous and pretty decent shot.
Just glad I didn't do a nude with glasses or I'd be inclined to go hang myself with this score!! ;-) |

Well, I like to think that pictures with people in them generally are nicer pictures. My taste hasn't changed and I definitely on averahge scored pictures with people higher than without in this particular challenge. |
