Is it possible that my eyesight has been totally off for more than a year, and then by some miracle it got better today?
I've been out taking pics of eagles again this year, and I decided today that I would compare this years to last years to see if I have improved. I was unpleasantly surprised, so I decided to look at all my photos, especially the ones I've posted here. All I have to say for myself, is that I'm really bad. How did my eyes deceive me for a whole year?
I hope I don't wake up next year and realize my husband is a natural blonde!

LOL. I also just realized that I have cut back on my alcohol intake in the last year, perhaps that has something to do with it? :P |

I always seem to get my eyesight back once I get the photos off my camera onto the computer.
It is not unknown to hear, "These looked a lot better when I shot them" in my house. |

Well, in order to test my theory on the alcohol, I just drank a bottle of wine and took another look. It's clear that the alcohol didn't have anything to do with it! :) My husband is still brunette as well. |

Yup! If all our images were only displayed on 2-3 inch backlit LCDs, they'd ALL be winners! |

They would be even better if we all sat around in a bar showing each other the majestic shots on our camera phones! |

Be sure that the diopter adjustment is set right on your camera if it has one. The setting on the S3 Pro that I use is a little too strong at one notch, and not quite enough at the next, and it makes me tend to focus just beyond where I really want focus. I have learned to focus long, then bring it in until it just goes out of focus, and that seems to work well if I have time to do it.
I have to wear readers to edit, but 1.25's are just a tad strong so far. I have to move a little closer than comfortable arm reach with them.

Wow, you can get phones with cameras? What WILL they think of next? :)
Back on topic, I've just discovered that my shooting eye, with glasses, is not what it should be. I was trying out the new 70-300 on manual, everything was off, looked at the scene with my shooting eye only then the other only... hey, at least now I have an excuse!
Sigh... but I really didn't want to get new glasses until next year... :(
eta; I wonder if shooting has anything to do with it worsening faster than the other? I'll have to remember to ask.

LOL, I wish I could use the bad eye as an excuse. I just went to my eye exam last week, and the eye doctor seems to think there is nothing wrong with them. |

Yea, I'm going to wait for the new version. I heard it has voice translation, so when I call Dell tech support, we will be able to understand each other!

OK, call me crazy, but I uploaded the same picture on Flickr as I did here, and the one here looks like crap. When I upload my images to DPC, does it compress them and makes them look bad? If so, is there a solution? When I save, should I save for web?
ETA: just so you know, this is an acutal, serious, question. I'm considering participating in a challenge and I don't want to if my pictures suck this bad.
Thanks in advance.

Nevermind, just shoot me now, I have bigger problems! My eyesight must be really bad. "Somebody" didn't shut the freezer door all the way yesterday and when "Somebody" when to get some chicken out of the freezer they noticed that everything was starting to thaw out! Is it alright if "Somebody" just shuts the freezer door and lets everything freeze back? Nothing is completely thawed out, there's just that nice layer of frost on top of everything. |

As long as there are still ice crystals (nothing completely thawed) the SOMEONE can refreeze their food safely. |

Better yet, cook everything so you will have something to enter for the Stock Photos: Cooking challenge. |
