Someone started a thread a while back asking us how we got into photography. At the time, I could not find this photo, but I finally ran across it and wanted to show it off. This is my shot that won a high school photography contest for me in 1977. Something like this would probably come in only mediocre in a challenge, but I'm proud of it.

| very cool ... honestly, I can't remember what it really was that got me interested in photography ... I *think* that it was a trip to Mackinac about 7 years ago that started the obsession ... |

While the photos that got me started in photography are hard-copy, and I don't have a scanner (nor the inclination to bother), they are all pretty much along the lines of your photo yospiff.
Black and white studies focusing far more on the play of light and the relationship of objects in a very basic way.
Yet, amazingly, they remain some of my favorite photos to this day.
Nostalgia perhaps.
I've come a million miles from my first forays into the field, but in many ways, I've also lost my way. |
