Hello,

I'm using Photoshop 7. How do I sharpen just one particular spot in a photo that is out-of-focus while the other parts are sharp?

Thanks.

Check out this tutorial by Brad. You'll probably want to read the entire thing... but what you're looking for is in Step 10.

Hope this helps :O)

I'm not a fan of the sharpen tool, I don't think it has the power that USM, High Pass, or other sharpening methods has. So, I do this:

1) Duplicate the layer you want sharpened (i.e. stamp visibile Ctrl-Alt-Shift-E)
2) Apply sharpening to the entire copied layer
3) Add a layer mask to the sharpened layer
4) Invert the mask so its black (this will hide the sharpening) (Ctrl-I)
5) Select Brush Tool, and default colors (hit D)
6) Left click the MASK, and paint over the area where you want sharpening.

There are other ways of making masks, quick mask, copy parts of the image, etc.

Good luck.
