What types of subjects do you like shooting and looking at?

Black & White with good contrast.
Nature shots (Animals, outdoor, etc)
Closeups

I haven't learned how to really "see" black and white yet, but I'm working on it. Black and white makes you look so much more at the light itself, rather than the color. I'd love to be good at that.

At this point I most enjoy taking nature shots, often times macro.

I'm looking forward to an upcoming portraiture class so that I can work on getting good at photographing people.

B&W and macro are my favorite right now. I just wish I could get my Z1 to take some of those great macro shots like Jacko does.

B&W high contrast is my fave for sure - ever since getting a copy of Don Mcullin's book I have been hooked on photography.

B&W however doesn't bode well for votes here, neither does high contrast - or anything other than 'stock' come to think of it.

You can't beat a landscape in B&W, but my guess is that if Adams posted one of his, people would comment that 'it would look so much better in color'

Philistines. ;D

The photographic world is so vast! I can´t choose one or two. Obviously I like so much of that kinds I´d domain. I enjoy to shot landscapes, nature and specially bird´s flight, to use my favorite tech: panning.
The thing to me is the project itself. I plan to do some shot when a saw some scene and like of the view. The technique or type of subject is in second place to add to the scene.

I like taking portraits of kids and animals they always have fun or different expressions andd they tend to pose more for the camera more then adults! I recently started taken more pictures of objects like guitars , nicnacs, toys using backdrops to bring out the subject! But in general I think I live with my camera by myside or at hand I just like taken pictures of everything!

I would say emotive pictures usually in b&w or duotone. Photojournalistic and candid with an increasing enjoyment of wildlife/animal shots. None of which I have mastered or even come close to getting a handle on, but as long as I strive to better myself the more I learn.

I prefer to look at photographs with subjects that interest me and styles I wish to emulate, however, being open to all kinds of photography helps me appreciate the vastness of what the world has to offer.

Candid. Give me a group setting and let me just melt into the crowd and get candids of people.

I use to enjoy studio/still life work more, but it doesn't capture the emotive part of photography for me like 'capturing the everyday'.

PS. and black and white treatment usually works best for what I like to shoot.

You took the words right out of my mouth Danny! Candids would be my favourite style of photography as well. Followed closely by wildlife:

and portraits:

Jon - What book is that? I've seen a lot of your B&W photos and really like them. That is the style of B&W that I'm looking to try and focus on.

Thanks.

I like to shoot b&w's and nature, but I like to look at photographs with a lot of color.

I love architecture. Stuff doesn't move much, easier to control the light. After that probably nature - landscapes, trees and flowers... And third, definitely macros.

So far, I like to take photos that present as realistic an image as possible. Most of my shooting is outdoors, wildlife, landscapes, cityscapes, acrhitecture, etc. I'd like to get good at sports and action shots. B&W doesn't move me often. But I feel I am still in the infancy of developing a personal style and defining my taste.

Surprise that no one mentioned stock photos. They are very appealing to the eye but seems no one likes shooting them.
