LOL! I don't miss dialup!

I was about to pm you back then realized you probably wouldn't get it. LOL! While it would be fun to chat, I just don't have time right now. I have to hop in the shower, my aunt is coming to pick me up in just a little while. Maybe later tonight if you're not busy?

The cable is run, and we're just waiting for the "i"s to be dotted and the "t"s to be crossed so we can be hooked to it.

I've been waiting for three and a half years.

I can't even get my webmail at Earthlink, or Google to open so I can get at my G-Mail addy.

Dialup SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sucks!

It's almost like it's going to make me as miserable as possible right here at the end.

Hey, this reminds me, Bob, did you ever get the PM I sent you about a week ago?

See.....that's the worst part.....I left a 6MB cable connection when I moved three and a half years ago. I know EXACTLY what I've been missing.

I only started digital photography two and a half years ago, so I've never had the pleasure of uploading with broadband from home.

Soon!

Hey Terry, I got the PM that you sent on the 10th. That's the one where you said you were still up north with your mother and that you also heard that they closed Angelo's.

All I want for Christmas is to take pictures like Bear_Music.
12/30/2008 01:08:24 PM · #911
I've narrowed my FreeStudy down to two pictures.
Any Suckers care to pick one for me?

Be glad to.

I'm entry 225 - hope to finish that high. :-)

You beat me hands down. I, too, am very comfortable with what I've entered.

Suck running, run sucking - it's like walking and chewing gum at the same time - I've tried doing neither and I still fall over.
12/31/2008 12:09:36 PM · #920
I've got you all beat. I have an entire slate of 0.0000 at the moment. :-)

I have faith that my FS entry will be in a good solid suck zone, though.

does anyone else dream of dpc? i was dreaming when i woke up this morning that i had a perfect idea for the "Universe" challenge, only to come downstairs and find out i had made it up. does anyone else do weird shit like that or am i just the crazy obsessed one
12/31/2008 01:12:22 PM · #922
I dream that one day I would get good at using a camera, but that hasn't panned out yet.

I do a lot of daydreaming though, but not really about DPC. :)
12/31/2008 01:21:46 PM · #923
I don't necessarily dream about DPC, but I do have dreams about photography a lot. Does that count?

Oh, and weird experience. I logged in this morning (rollover occurs at 6 am where I live) and checked my score, and was quite pleased to see it in the 6.3 range. Also rather surprised since so many of the comments dealt with the focus and such, and really wasn't expecting anything over 6. Was hoping for a top ten, should I be so fortunate. But really was waiting for rollover on the Shadows challenge to see how the "Ode to Deb" did, because seriously, how cool is it to have a shot dedicated to you?

Rollover occurred. I was delighted to see Mark took a blue ribbon! Then I noticed this red lettering in the upper left side of my screen. I was confused at first, since I'd already renewed and thought that red lettering had gone away. Then I noticed that it said I had to submit my entry for Window Shopping for validation. I thought that odd since I didn't do any major editing, just a crop and levels. Began to wonder if maybe I'd cropped too much or something? But how would they know that? So I minimize the screen, go to my picture folder, find the original, bring the screen back up - and that's when I noticed that the reason I had to validate the entry was because my cute little girl looking in the window had won a ribbon.

This, folks, is what happens when you get old. :-)

LOL. Very fun story Deb! Congrats once more on a truly lovely photo.

And I want to thank our own Raish for the most wonderful comment on that shot:

You sure caught her.

In Norway (and no doubt Germany too) it is said that elves or pixies or some sort of magical little people dance in the shadows at the edge of the forest. A friend told me about how her daughter, on reaching the ripe old age of about seven or eight and breeching the walls of self-awareness, looked out of the car window while driving by the forest edge and said: "They're not there any more."

So thanks for taking us back to the magic.

Thank you, Peter, very much. I do still believe in elves and pixies and unicorns.
