a macro lens kit for my lensbaby
a wall charger and a very cool case/external speakers for my ipod
a robe a warm, fuzzy slippers
and 3 books that are inspiring the artist in me like crazy!:
Artist Trading Cards
The Impatient Beader
Semiprecious Salvage--Creating Found-Art Jewelry
but best of all, I got to spend Christmas eve with my family...we ate shameful amounts of food and told stories to the younger kids about when my cousins and I were kids. i can't remember the last time i've laughed so much or felt so loved.
Merry Christmas to you all!
*big hugs* |

Who said we were in a recession? It looks like almost everyone has been getting some every nice hard gifts this year!
I have also been spoiled and did not deserve the Canon 1D mkIII and 135mm f/2L my wife let me buy for an early present. But I paid back a little by taking more than 200 pictures of family and kids the past couple of days :) |

the other thing is there is potential for the metal bracket to short out the flash - if any of the flash pins contact the mounting bracket. i electrical taped the aluminum bracket to try to avoid that catastrophe before i switched to the plastic foot mount method. |
Thanks, Tim. I followed your advice and changed to the base that came with the flash.

No camera gear, but that's mostly because I couldn't make up my mind what kind of new camera I want. I got a National Geographic book with inspirational pictures of the 500 of the World's Greatest Trips. We are going to look at that tonight and pick out where we are going this summer for our 10th anniversary and by that time I will have some new gear to photograph it with. We're kind of torn right now between Kruger (South Africa), Botswana and Kenya. |

Here's a great book of memoirs from a family who were gamekeepers in Kruger Park for several years...really makes you want to go there! |

Oooh, the Geotagger sounds fun. Mine would all probably be boring though since I don't travel anywhere yet. It'd be a mixture of Chicago (while at school) and Minnetonka (while at home). That's it. D: |

I didn't get any photo gear at all.
In fact, I think I'll be selling a couple lenses after the first of the year because I just don't use them.
If anyone's interested in a Canon 70-200 f4 or a Tamron 28-75 f2.8, just PM me. |
