Sirashley,

I said no such thing. Please fix your quote and attribute it to the person who offered it.

LMAO... Sorry bro, I deleted all the other quotes from the message and accidently left your name as the person who quoted it... My bad... I fixed it

There were some truly awesome entries in there..... glad I didn't enter! ;)

A lot were excellent, a lot stuck to the challenge subject, but there were a few... dare I say it... that had no shadows whatsoever in them........

After the challenge completes, I will ask you to point to the images with "no shadows whatsoever". I believe each image had shadows somewhere. Maybe you should look again.

I know you have an issue with me because of a comment I left on your image, but I ask you to let it lie please.

Merry Christmas Hahn, I truly hope you have a wonderful time.

I have no issue with you, but I do question your absolute statement about some images in the challenge. No offense intended. Maybe I didn't understand your hyperbole. Feel free to explain exactly what you meant.

Ok, I will explain in more detail. I just felt that 1 or 2 of the pictures had little or no shadows in... in my opinion. I have gone back and looked, as you suggested, but I still feel the same. I will go back to them in a few more days to see if I still feel the same way.

And I must point out, this doesn't necessarily mean that I gave them a 'troll' mark either.

After the challenge is finished, I probably will not feel comfortable in pointing them out. If I want to comment on individual images, I do so on the pictures themselves... but I am learning that some people do not like constructive comments that do not compliment their pictures... so I don't want to get involved with that any more.

I do feel that you have been nitpicking at me though Hahn. For example: my comment on your image in the stars challenge was not derogatory, it was helpful in my opinion, yet you still had some sort of issue with it.

And Panks, I'll answer your question:

My definition of shadows is more or less the same as Sirashley's.

I have to point out that I rated very fairly, as I always do, in this challenge. There were lots and lots of exceptional entries and they were a joy to view.

Sarah that was very well put. I feel the same exact way, I'm here to learn, and as long as I walk away with something new from each challenge, how I do is really insignificant. Unless of course, its dead last...LOL...

Welcome Sarah :)

If you look at my past challenge entries you will see lots (and some less) of around the same score as yours. I am here to learn too and I started out with some low scorers! However, yesterday I got my personal best on an entry for the Personification challenge - I was over the moon!

I entered for the Window Shopping challenge too and I'm at a 4.9....! I'm still learning... we all are :)

You know, I just realized....none of my top 5 finishes on my profile are from my XSi, they were all taken with my old S3 IS. What's a boy gotta do? I think I've lost my photo-mojo. :-(

All of the entries have shadows. You people have to be kidding. There are no "white cows in a snowstorm" images. Only if an obscure and idiosyncratic definition is applied to "shadow" can one say there are no "shadows". It is this kind of bogus narrowing definition of a challenge about which I strongly object. (btw, my image has a strong shadow, so I'm not talking about my image. All the images have shadows. I'll ask the jokers who are asserting otherwise to point the alleged "no shadow" images after the challenge.) I found the voting on this challenge to be highly unusual. Is this challenge part of some outside side challenge.... about which we are unaware?

Hahn, I respect your opinion, but aren't we allowed to have our views and cast our votes without being referred to as 'jokers'? I voted fairly.

I am presuming that this challenges votes is down to individual perception, and in particular; the individual perceptions of varying degrees of shadows.

I have no problem with you or your comment, as long as you don't apply a more narrow definition to "shadows" than is mentioned in the challenge description. You know, a shadow does not have to be a silhouette on a wall with all blacks.

I know that :)

I'll be honest with you... I feel that I have a very broad outlook and am very generous with my perceptions and definitions on challenge entries.

If I feel comfortable enough and don't feel like I'll get ripped to shreds for it, I might post the thumbs post-challenge, which I felt displayed very little or no shadow.

And like I said earlier in the thread, I didn't 'troll' vote these entries either.

Goodnight :)

Rainbow, I wouldn't post any thumbs after the challenge just to please this guy because I don't think that's fair to the people who shot them. I wouldn't want one of my photos pointed out, especially if the person who shot it is new to the site. If you want to continue your debate with him, which by the way is pointless, because we're all jokesters, then do it via Private Message. Lastly, don't worry about being ridiculed for your opinion, you are entitled to it. I for one, think there are three photos which do not have shadow. I can't elaborate on that without giving away which photos I'm talking about, but that doesn't mean I voted them low either. Just for the record I gave an average score of 5.0160

It will be interesting to see which entries those of you who have declared.... "...had no shadows whatsoever in them". Certainly there is something I can learn from such absolute statements. i'll look forward to your explanation. I'll keep an open mind.

Im a little disappointed with my score...i know mines not the best of photos but there are only a handful of photos in this challenge that are any good.
So next time I mite just take a photo of something simple instead of something interesting....hahaha
