I finally ordered some of my own prints through DPCPrints recently. I received them in the mail today.

20x30

16x20

The prints are gorgeous. I ordered glossy prints of both.

One other note...

When I ordered these, it stated that I would pay $5.95 for priority mail delivery. It was shipped First Class Mail rather than priority mail... there is a difference :)

From the USPS website:

Postcards, letters, and large envelopes can be sent using First-Class Mail®. This service, along with Priority Mail and Express Mail, can be used for personal correspondence, handwritten or typewritten letters, and bills or statements of account. It may also be used for advertisements and lightweight merchandise. The weight limit for First-Class Mail is 13 ounces. For heavier items, use Priority Mail.

Priority mail will have a fixed-minimum charge (around $4) if you choose to send a small item (like an overdue bill), but has the advantage that you can pay a fee (about 50 cents) to have tracking and delivery confirmation added. Priority Mail also has Flat-Rate envelopes, where you can send something small but heavy for less than the per-ounce charges would be.

Rates and delivery times for First Class and Priority Mail are otherwise almost the same.

And now I don't feel so bad for not having been able to order any of mine yet!

I never ordered any because I never really had a need for anything larger than I could print myself. After seeing these I may just quit printing my own :)

I stopped printing my own a while back, when I realized that mine were not permanent. They will fade with time, and are much more fragile to the touch. I now only print my own if I need a quick fix.

I noticed there's no copyright noted on the prints unless as part of the submitted original. Any views about this?

John, how does the black look? I have been wondering how it would look when there's so much of it in one space.

In the pre-digital era, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, and we made prints in a darkroom, if we wanted to place a copyright notice on a print, we just had a small rubber stamp made with the copyright notice on it.

you could still use that stamp today...

That's great for a dino, but I don't want to have to travel to the world just to stamp my prints. ;-)

I got a number of mine for holiday presents and they all look better than I had hoped. The ones with a lot of black looked fabulous.

I only print my own if I'm proofing..

These are very high quality products.

and I put a copyright notice on the bottom before uploading.

How many of you include the copyright with the print, and if you don't, why not?
12/16/2003 09:26:31 PM · #18
I almost always use a border for size or decorative purposes, so I always have the title and copyright notice out there.

I would not of thought of copyright with my shots, thanks for idea...one more thing to learn how to add : )
