I thought images in your workshop folder could not be viewed by others. Mine show that they have been viewed.
Can anyone explain??

Well if all your images are challenge entries then the views come from people browsing the challenge results. If they aren't challenge entries then ....I have no idea. :)

NO they are not challenge entries. They are a series from a shoot that I plan to enter for the upcoming Free Study.

What I do is hide them after uploading them so no one sees the images before I'm ready.

There are two ways Workshop images can be viewed: the first way is if you have linked to them in a forum thread or in an image comment. The second way is from someone randomly entering the Image ID in the URL from the address bar of their browser.

Also, every time YOU look at an image in your workshop, that shows up as a view... They don't update this info in real time, however, so it takes a while to see the results of a viewing reflected in the statistic.

AFAIK viewing your own photos, unless you are not logged in, does not count on the views.

According to L2 in a private message to me, only the first view of your own images counts towards views logged. I suppose you can maybe rack 'em up if you're not logged in, but kinda hard to access your workshop whennot logged in :-) It could be done by clicking a link, but that's surely not Leo's problem.

Anyway, it seems I was wrong. Been wrong a lot lately :-(

I have viewed them while logged in. So when I click on them it only the first click counts as a view? Is thst right?

I was just worried that these images would give away my annonimity(sp?) for my free study entry.

Thx for the info

According to L2, yes... I haven't independently verified it, but she's SC and knows everything, right? JejejeĆ¢„Ā¢

People are sniping images.. They just change the number after looking at a picture and find yours.
