I am voting in the challenge and making comments and there are some shots that blurred then sharp in the middle. or a selective sharp and all blur

How is this done, it is really cool and I am puzzled and want to learn this technique.

Could be shot with a lensbaby maybe?

not really, they are blurred all around, then right in the middle they are as sharp as a tack. Or just a tiny sliver is as sharp as a tack. It looks great. They are in the twisted challenge

I just looked up a LenSBaby and I think that it is right there. It does sort of look like that.

The first of these is a lensbaby shot - you can move the sharp spot around the frame. The new composer looks quite fun. I don't much like my lensbaby 3G (anyone want to buy one? )

I recently did something similar using a mask with a radial gradient and the Zoom Blur filter in Photoshop.

It's quite surprising to see how different that effect actually is compared to a lensbaby.
