Is it just me or does the "1962" look more like an Ansel Adams than the "Ansel"?

Has any one else used their iphone as a replacement for a p&s camera?

well, I have to say that the image quality of the iphone is not up to point and shoot standards. I found a useful app called Night Camera (though it is just as useful in daylight): it is like poor man's VR--it uses the internal accelerometer to detect that the camera is steady, and then fires the shutter.

if the iphone had a 4-5 megapixel camera, and a bit better lens, it would be fairly handy I think. But the camera now, I find, to be so-so. The Bar Code reader apps are nearly useless, as they depend on a clear, crisp image of the bar code and I have yet to get a good enough image for the readers to work.

But, if you choose the types of images and keep your expectations set appropriately, the iphone can still be a fun camera to play with :-)

That's really nice! I wonder how it would do in a challenge.

I wondered the same thing, and then kicked myself for posting it. If it wasn't in the forums, I'd have put it in a Free Study for shits and giggles.

November is not quite over, sir. Go forth, shoot, and enter a camera phone image. You Have Our Blessing, As We From This Side Challenge Seek Shits And Giggles Galore.
