FWIW, I'd be suspicious of that number since it happens to be exactly the maximum 16-bit unsigned binary value (1111111111111111).

I just meant that it could easily be a software bug because of the particular value. Franky, I wouldn't be surprised if your actual number of clicks is much higher. I've shot over 3000 pictures in just the last two months.

well ive had the camera for over a year, i have no way of estimating how many shutter clicks i have

Well, if you're a pack rat like I seem to be, you can just count the images on your hard drive. :)

Showing my inner geek, I suppose. Star Trek TOS was very artistic and inspired. That episode immediately came to mind when I saw your photo. It was a fantastic tribute, even if unintentional.

Wow I just found this utility to get the shutter count from my 40D... tested it by getting the count then taking a couple shots and ran the app again and it said the same number + 2 :)

So far at 28,331 O_O

Does 28k seem like a reasonable number for the time you've had the camera?

didnt we both end up with 28,000ish?(of course thats not including all i delete) but yeh. ive had mine ever since it came out, so a bit more then a year. you?
