I'm sure there are some G-Mail users here.

Well, I have 2 accounts. 1 Account had a highlited item that said "Try GMail Themes!"
Wow - really cool ... you can change the appearance of your WebMail - a bunch of different pallets to choose from.
Oh boy what fun.

Anyhow, I logged into my OTHER Gmail account and the THEMES option isn't even available. I access them both from the same computer and same browser. Anyone familiar with this??

Themes will be rolled out over the next few days, not all email addresses have them yet.

I chose Zoozimps, really cute (yeah I'm a kid, LOL).

Hmm ... I'm wondering if the special setting and "labs" option I use might have prevented themes for some reason.

Cool. Thanks.
How do you know this? Is there something I missed or are you "in the know".

Did you click on settings and then the themes tab?

I have the same problem as you with two accounts.

LOL, check the gmail blog.

We'll be rolling out themes to everyone over the next couple of days, so if you don't see them yet, check back soon.

Check the version of gmail you are using. I have 4 gmail accounts. Themes only show up on the two that use the 'newer version' of gmail. If I switch one of the ones using the 'older version' to the newer version themes are available.

In the upper right corner of the main gmail screen you should see a link that either says older (if you are using the newer) or newer (if you are using the older) version. Once on the newer version, themes should be a tab on the settings screen.

LOL! I picked graffiti and it wanted my zip code because it said it's different for different areas. Regionalised graffiti! This just cracks me up!

I chose a theme to see what it would look like, now I can't change it. Any ideas on how to do that?
11/20/2008 03:50:05 PM · #12
Settings, themes tab, select the classic or default theme to go back to normal or any other one should change it.

This is a slight hijack but it's because I just opened my gmail for the first time in a week or two. Please forgive me; it's just not worth its own thread :)

My Yahoo acct started getting a newsletter titled "What's up Jeddah" from whatsupksa.net. I have noooooo idea why. The unsubscribe addy didn't work so I visited the site and used the contact there. I got a very pleasant reply and haven't gotten any at Yahoo since. But now I see my gmail is getting them, AND a freenet text-only acct that I access through hyperterminal.
So where would they get a list that contains these three vastly different email addys?

eta; my hotmail isn't getting them... so far, at least.

I tried to unsubscribe from that too! I was also trying to figure out how I got on that list.

This hasn't shown up for me, but I have to say that I love my gmail account more than I thought I could love an email interface. Google in general has been simply brilliant imho.

The option just popped up in my other account! Highlited and very obvious.
Who'd have thunk??

My choices:
Cold Shower
and
Phantasea

I have gmail, use Picasa here at work and use the web albums 'cause of features nobody else has, belong to Google groups, and have just generally thought that Google is the coolest thing since the folding paper napkin for quite a few years......8>)

I think most men need frequent cold showers ;) Especially after too many phantaseas?

Zoozimps are just stupid enough that I like them.

I hardly ever check my gmail using their website. I have it downloaded to Outlook. The only time I go to my gmail is to use it as a link to my Google calendar.

oohhh.... 'Terminal'!

But I settled on 'Tea House'. I'm not sure, but I think it asks for your region so it can do nighttime/daytime effects on the background. I love it!
