I know I've been on a bit of a bad run, but you don't need to rub it in... ;¬P seriously, I am not convinced I will come home with anything worth keeping, but by golly I shall have fun trying! |

Of course I think about it now that it's too late in the day, but I was considering getting a hand grip for the camera vice the strap I usually use. I'll just have to be a bit more aware. Germany lulls one into a lovely sense of safety and security....
Kinda wish we could get all of Team Suck over there at one time. But we'll be sure to share our views of the place. |

Most excellent, Jeanne! Where are you going?
When I finished college, my friend and I spent a week hiking near Juneau, staying in the youth hostel in town. I expect you'll have nicer accommodations. :)

Yikes! Sounds like a PhD in PhotoShop! Sounds like a VERY cool project though, and a very worthwhile one, too.
I think I'm more or less packed. Charging up a battery so they'll both be ready to go. I'll check in when I find a connection! |

83 layers?! Does PS even HAVE that many layers?
Ok, now that I've spent most of my day off fretting about Druli and posting on a bazillion forums, it's about time I shot for HeartII and tried to get a cool shot for WITWIARTRoflmao.
...think I have a shot for HeartII. Now I must make sure I don't kill it by oversharpening!

Here we are in Rome - just had a Pizza sitting outside in the sunshine. Shortly off for a little sight-seeing, then perhaps a rest (it was a 2.30am start...) and more Italian food and sightseeing! |

Looks like my editing is getting just a tad bit too complicated for some. My red will probably be dq'd, though it's been in for validation since the first day so maybe they're still fighting it out (and by definition of the rules, I believe should be legal). My heart should be fine for advanced. I'm hoping I don't end up with back to back dq's anyway, lol!

Greetings from Rome! I fired up the laptop and the little hotel we're in has a wireless connection. We promise to upload a shot or two here and there.
Elaine, awesome scores! You go, girl!
Kelli - save the wild editing for the side challenges. :-) (Says the woman who may well have over-edited her Periodic Table just a tad, but it's kinda cool anyway.)
We wandered about, saw the most AMAZING displays from thousands of starlings - will try to get closer to them tomorrow. Does anyone know if there is method to their madness or are they just having fun? We watched for quite awhile.
Now we're back to give our feet a rest, and given that both of us were up at 2 am to catch our respective airplanes at not especially convenient airports, we keep thinking it should be later than it is. We've done coffee to keep us going until it's a decent hour to go to dinner. Have several recommendations from locals.
Our "hotel" is four rooms or so on one part of one floor of a building. The young lady who checked us in is delightful. In the morning she will bring us cappucino, juice and croissants. How cool is that? |

Starlings
yeah, yeah, have fun, enjoy, not talking to you any more . . . |

Be careful when you fly out, lol... Starlings. Though it doesn't answer your question, there is much data on their flocking abilities after a quick google search.
They are attracted to the relative warmth of cities, and some 1.5 million migrate to Rome each winter, the ornithologist added.
And I agree, I might just go back to minimal editing for all challenges, or give up challenges all together.
