Dear all,

Can anyone tell me, from their own experience, or from other expert sources, how should
I process the files for web (I shoot in RAW).

My specific question is:

Let us say that the max size I am posting on web is 950 pixels on the lengthier side.

What should I do:

1. Convert from RAW to TIFF, and process TIFF of max size, and then save for web JPG(950px on lengthier side)

2. Convert from RAW to JPG full size, process JPG full size, and and then save for web JPG(950px on lengthier side).

3. Convert from RAW to JPG full size, convert to JPG (950px on lengthier side), and then process.

Which is the better way? Please suggest.

Raw files have the most data density. I would recommend processing as much as possible as a RAW file before conversion to JPEG using Save for Web.

Raw to Tiff so you can process in 16 bit.

eta: process full size. There is nothing more irritating than sizing down to output size out of the gate, then realizing that the finished product would like great as a full size print as well.

All of the local printers here take them.

Or that your sister-in-law will see the shot(s) of your niece that you put on Facebook for the family to enjoy and demand prints, and then you realize you only edited them for the web.
