First of all, let me say thanks to everyone for the comments!

Here is my picture from the challenge:

Its a new highscore for me! and its my first top 5 finish, so I'm pretty excited about that.

I had originally planed to submit this in color, but my color balance was all out of whack because I was using a mixture of constant lights and flash; I couldn't figure out how to fix that and still be legal under basic editing, so I decided to go with B&W instead.

I realize that some people thought that because I was using American flag shoes that I was trying to make a political statement, but that wasn't the case; I was simply trying to make a humorous photo, but feel free to take it how ever you want. In reality I was using those shoes because of my four pairs of converse, they are my least favorite.

Here is a version that I put up on my flickr and DA account, it definitely would only be legal under expert editing.

Anyway, thanks again!
Matt

What did you do to it that would only be legal in Expert? You can do a heck of a lot in Advanced.

i'm usually a big proponist for b&w images but i must say this shot works so much better than the monochrome version! awesome job on the editing (and lighting) and i too would be interested to know about your editing on the color version!

hmm... I went back and looked at the rules again, and you're right, I probably could do it in advanced.

But you've only entered 10 challenges, you have plenty of time to expand your list of subjects...How do you think I feel, after 83 challenges, 4 of my top 6 are hummingbirds.

Nice shot, btw.
