We don't need any heating oil. We have margaritas!

It was fuel from the saddle tanks......it was a dry load from a regular 53 foot trailer.

We're pretty fussy here about spills........the piles of blackish stuff is oil dry/kitty litter that's soaking up the spill.......they'll use however many hundred pounds it takes to sop it up and the trucking company *will* pay for its safe disposal.

Hey Doyle, we're going to have to go out and do some shooting again. I just have to find the time.

I'd love to Bob but I'm going up to Indian River for my mom's surgery and I'll be staying with her for awhile. I'm not sure how long I'll be gone.

Let me know how things go with your mom!

The only Suck part with our new place is that it takes a while to get there:

but at least there is water nearby:

Terry, hope your mom's surgery goes well. Always nerve-wracking when it's a parent.

I treated myself to a new lens today cause I got a fave during voting...AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D...now I can shoot macros!!! Better not get into the habit of buying a lens each time I get one, though, or I'll be even broker than I am already *grin*

*off to play with new glass*

lol, doesn't take much to cheer you up Susan. I think you were already looking to buy it and just needed an excuse. :) Now if I can only find an excuse to buy that fisheye I have my humaneye on. wink wink

OH and how does someone join this group. I was told by Melethia months ago I couldn't join b/c I was too good, ROFL. Now that I have proven I suck over many challenges, I think this place would fit me well.

Once you join, they won't let you leave.

Plus I don't know where Deb is saying anyone is too good, she cleans up the floor on Team Suck, her photos rock.

so. about becoming a suckee, i might have missed something, but what do you have to do, just suck and enjoy it?
10/23/2008 12:23:46 PM · #46
Christian!! So good of you to drop in. Dew drop inn more often, would ya?

Jayson, many thanks for all the comments of late - very much appreciated!

And I told Jac he couldn't play on Team Suck when his very first entry scored a 7+ and a blue ribbon. I see he's managed to get a few in the 40+ percentile, but really, I don't think he's trying all that hard if he doesn't have anything below that.... But... we mostly consider Suck an attitude and a way of life. If you can limit your wineglasses with sunsets and water drops to just a few random challenges here and there, well... You'll still have to petition our Fearless Leader and he'll want to know just why, exactly, you think you'd like to join the denizens of this somewhat offbeat group.

I hope you have better luck with yours than I did.....I *hated* that lens! LOL!!!

But I'm a zoomie kind of guy!

Primes take a bit of getting used to. You learn to zoom with your feet, which isn't always convenient. I went out this afternoon to see what I could see for the street challenge, got to my desired location, and realized I had the 100mm on the camera, not the 24-105 I was expecting to see. That'll teach me to grab the bag in the dark!
