That's just ridiculous...why would ANYONE in their right mind sign that crap? |

Young girls with stars in their eyes that tend to blind them to small print that they don't understand in the first place :( |

People wil do some crazy things for their chance at 'fame'... besides... most ill never read the full conract and that's the sad part... they hear from someone that it's a good deal, sign without reading, and then it's too late. |

From what I understand, she didn't read it (or didn't understand it when she did) and just signed it with dollar signs in her eyes.
But, she was totally cool with ME not signing it and said she understood that I didn't want to be owned forever.

... but she don't mind HER commitments in that dodgy (to say the LEAST) model contract?

She said not. That she doesn't intend to shoot for/with anyone else.
My first thought to that statement was, "Not right NOW you don't."
*echoing your sigh* |

I would love to have models that would sign 1/4 of that commitment to me so easily.
Do they promise her a minimum income or maximum abuse ?

The whole Suicide Girls thing is an attempt to draw "alternative" (read: "the new cool") girls into a world they normally wouldn't have been able to break into (I say this in reference to modern modeling and fashion) and they eat it up. They have no idea how much standard models are being paid, and suicide girls knows that. The models for SG figure "well, it isn't as if I could make a real modeling contract, right?" and get ripped off. The whole thing is just gross, because it rips off girls who think they are doing something new and "artistic" for themselves but really it's just exploitive. "If you ain't dead, you ain't a suicide girl" (Sage Francis) (I also think the terminology they chose is gross)

The only thing they don't demand in the contract is rights to your first born...unless said child is born during the contract term and then they probably do own them?! Dang........ |

And even then they wouldn't be allowed to disparage SG for 2 years after the contract ends. |

Haha :) Hi Leroy! Thanks for the vote :) And thanks for reporting mystiry :)
I am going to throw this out there.... has ANYONE ever heard of a model being released from an SG contract IF they had never done work for SG, had no photographs to give them, and had only signed the contract 3 or 4 days prior?

Contract looks to have a TINY bit of wiggle room on this if nothing is ever completed...
I wanna say "hi" to Leroy... |

A few years ago I met a girl who had just been accepted to SG, she was so excited and I didn't know what it was at the time, so I was excited for her. We haven't spoken in a long time, but now I wonder how she's doing and if she's still stuck in this SG vortex... :( |
