This is a chat room setup by Manic where a few of us get together regularly for chat. The chat is sometimes even about photography :)

Oh yes, Gary has right. I thought I could try it, I just went online to say hello, and it took me 2 hours! :-))) (Not reaching the site, just saying hello, and some other things. :-))

I've done both in there - spend hours, and a few minutes.
It is a great way to get instant answers about photography (and sometimes other things too!). Although not officially a part of this site, it does help to bring the community even closer together! :) |

Help, I can't get in. When I click the link in this thread, it just doesn't want to load. Am I doing it wrong?

I've tried to register, but it doesn't work. It just get me "wrong getaway" messages or time outs. I am so dissapointed.

timmi: Do you have a LAN network at home? Internal IP addresses do wicked things sometimes. Try it with the computer that has the modem / ethernet, I am not sure, but that may help you.

I don't know if I have LAN. At home I am on simple cable internet connection. I've never had problems getting into other chatrooms. Maybe someone doesn't want me there ?? :-)))

Ah, sorry, so LAN is a home network where more computers are linked together. If you don't get Internet directly: another computer is on the Internet and you are linked to this computer (this is called a gateway) then problems like yours can occure.
So you say yours is the only one computer with a cable connection? That should work then. Do you have a firewall (software that protects your computer from hackers and other wicked things)?

I just checked with my husband. We are not on LAN, and we do not have a firewall. The only thing that is running is Norton Antivirus, which I do not want to turn off.

Norton Antivirus is okay, I have it too, and chat works. I aks around for you, jost hooold on. :-))

Try to log on in Safe mode. This may just work.
