I recently got a new phone which has an nifty little camera on it, I entered this in the free study ->

It didn't finish tooo badly, which sort of goes to prove you don't need an amazing camera to take a good picture!

Here are some other shots I took that day,

lol nice one!

I've been meaning to try it again with my phone but probably not in a FS (have the FS Marathon to think about lol). what made this harder is the fact that its a self portrait!

Dang, I just got a new Samsung Instinct last week that I've have been having a blast with, but the camera's only 2 megapixels compared to your 5. :-( It does ok snapshots if that's all I have at the time, but I don't think it has camera adjustments though.

Nice pics btw, great saturation and clarity.

Anyone up for a camera phone side challenge? I might propose one next month if there's enough interest.

You'd kind of have to look pretty far back to find a camera phone without EXIF, I think. Not having EXIF is the exception really.

That'd be cool.

My profile photo was taken with my camera phone.

Sadly, it only looks half-decent when re-sized to 120px on the long side. lol.

Nice contrast though, looks cool in B/W.

I was looking for the LG Dare in the camera section but coudn't find it, I guess I need to get a hold of them and see if they'd kindly add it. ;)

I would be totally down for a mobile side challenge! I was thinking about this today and thought it would be fun! I think a mobile picture did real well once upon a time.

It will be interesting to see if we start getting more mobile shots on DPC with all the megapixel race entering the cell arena.

Crumb, my cameraphone seems to just show the date, time, camera name, and whether or not the flash is off. Isn't it really the date and time they look for in the exif info for DQ?

When you submit your request for adding a camera, the SC will require a photo file taken with the camera/phone. The picture/file will be evaluated and approved/not approved depending upon what the SC will find. The result of the evaluation is in part dependent upon how much information and of what value for dpc purposes is contained in the exif.
Be sure to send a file that you think contains exif. Some camera phones only write exif info in certain formats such as the largest, sometimes 640x480 or even smaller.
I would estimate that most of the early camera phones listed in the Camera Equipment archive have no ability to write exif, or would require powerful exif extraction software not normally in use.
