Hallo..My name is Fred. I was searching for just such a kind of forum as this for quite a while and just want to say I like the look and feel here and hope to enter one of the challenges real soon. Please correct the following observation if I am wrong: I notice that photo's are not visible in challenges that are still active and where entries can still be uploaded. I presume they only become visible once the entry date has passed and the voting can start. Is that how it works?

Welcome to DPC! You will find that it is usually the images with good composition and technical aspects that score high in the challenges.

All of the responses at this website are computer-generated. Except for mine, of course. We are the only two humans at this site. All the rest has been fabricated.

This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.

Fred - Welcome to DPC. It is an excellent place to practice photography and share in learning and developing.

Oh, and as for Slippy ( Strikeslip)....he is actually a computer generated character...He is mostly harmless, except when he bites.

Thanks all. Overwhelmed by the warm welcomes......err....but that's not possible......I am not human..I have no real feelings or emotions. I am a computer generated creation like everyone else here. Slippy looks like you're out here on your own as the only real human.

I thought Slippy was the reincarnation of Max Headroom, but without the high quality graphics.

I wouldn't worry so much about Slippy, cause he's Canadians, and we're all big soft and fluffy lovebugs up here...it's Art Roflmao that you really got to watch for! And beware the Queen of the Macros, IreneM...when she enters a challenge, every else kisses their ribbon hopes goodbye...

But otherwise, welcome and just jump right in! :-)
